We are thrilled to introduce the amazing staff that will be coordinating Appalachian Mountain Ecology Camp, this June 7-13th at the historic Pine Mountain Settlement School.
Clare Condon is the environmental literacy coordinator at Pine Mountain Settlement School. She holds a Master’s in Natural Resources with a concentration in Environmental Education and Science Communication from the University of Idaho. Clare’s work is shaped by the belief that the most powerful teacher is the land, and is committed to connecting people to places through environmental education. In her free time, you can find Clare frolicking in the woods, hammocking by a stream, or watering her huge plant collection. 🌿
William Taylor is a master’s student of Biology at Eastern Kentucky University studying the Yellow-spotted Woodland Salamander. Before attending EKU, William received his BS in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from the University of Kentucky with focuses in field research and wildlife studies. He is thrilled to share his passion for herpetology and freshwater ecology with the next generation of scientists at AMEC. In his free time, William enjoys recreational sports, running, doing art projects, and playing video games. 🦎
Callie Dickman is a Natural Areas Recreation Supervisor with Lexington Parks and Recreation, where she oversees the trail-accessible wheelchair program and leads park programming. She has a dual degree in Environmental & Sustainability Studies and Natural Resources & Environmental Science from the University of Kentucky. In Lexington, she has helped support the Kentucky River Water Trail, Tree Week, Water Week, and Climate Conversations. Callie is incredibly passionate about environmental education, connecting with the earth around her, and sharing her love for the environment with others. 🌎
