Our featured program is the privately owned Skydusky Hollow Cave System... a massive karst network with nearly 9 miles of surveyed passage and depths reaching about 380 feet!

🦇 The caves are also home to several species of bats, including the federally endangered Indiana bat.

Our guest speaker is a member of the caving community who has been involved in studying and mapping this remarkable cave system.

🌄 Come discover a part of Bland County that most of us never get to see!

Get your old Bland County Fair archives ready!
We are going to the County Fair!

2026 marks the 100th Anniversary of the Bland County Fair & Horse Show.

To help celebrate this momentous occasion, the Bland County Historical Society has teamed up with the Bland County Fair, Inc to bring an archives display for our gift shop at the Old Jail.

Please contact 276-591-6659, 276-613-1039 or 276-613-4626 or stop by the Bland County Historical Society on Saturdays from 9am - 1pm if you have archives to loan for the year for our gift shop display.

We are looking for ribbons, books, programs, your art, pictures, anything that can be deemed as being part of the History of the Bland County Fair & Horse Show! This exhibit is currently on display!

We are located at 19 Courthouse Street • Bland, Virginia (beside the Courthouse).

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer... it is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

As you gather with family and friends today, please take a moment to honor the fallen and reflect on the cost of liberty.
