OnSaurday, Jan. 17, as many as can will meet at Boomerangs in Blanchard for breakfast and then go to the Post to pack everything in preparation for our move. Please come to help.

We are having our Christmas dinner Sat. The 29th at 2:00 at KT's Smokehouse. You don't have to be a member to come. Bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.

We lost Earl Boen, one of our VFW members, this evening. Lung cancer & agent Orange. Service will be Monday at 2:00 in Maysville, OK.

We're home after a LONG, tiresome but exciting Veterans Day. The Newcastle Middle School had an exceptional program. I've never seen 400 students so quiet you could hear a pin drop, but they were. Then we were honored to present the colors at the Newcastle 4th & 5th grade program. What a blessing! Those students are doing a fundraiser for the VFW's new building, with a goal of $550. When we were there, they had over $300!! America's future is in good hands! We also the best ever Poppy Drive at Walmart. They furnished three large cakes that we gave out in honor of our Veterans. All-in-all, a fantastic day!

We had a wonderful Vets Parade Saturday, picked up PP, VOD, & Teacher nominees. We are excited; schools are getting on board!

The Tony. K. Burris VFW Post 3608 in Blanchard will be having an indoor yard sale on Saturday, October 26 from 9:00 to 4:00 at the Post on Hwy. 62 (Veteran's Highway) and Jackson St. If you have donations, call 387-5653. Join us as we work increase our building fund so we can move to another building (we have to vacate ours).

Membership drive & buddy poppies at Tri-cities Walmart today. State membership Chair a no show. None of our LA showed up to help, which is unusual.

I gave a welcome home coin to an Iwo Jima vet & his son, a Vietnam vet at Ray's Supermarket in Central Point, OR today. Very special.

Join us at the airport in OKC for the Welcome Home for our World War II veterans who are right now on their Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Help us welcome them home Wednesday morning at 9:15.
