Veteran's Memorial Park was built to recognize and honor any military veteran. It does not matter if you live in Blanchard or not, and neither does the Honoree.

What a wonderful opportunity to honor any family member, relative, friend, whomever you wish, that has served in any branch of the military. Simply purchase an “Honor Brick” in their name so they will be perpetually honored in this memorial. These “Honor Bricks” will become a big part of raising the funds required to construct this wonderful memorial. The intent is to recognize any and all Veteran

s who has served our great country. The design of this memorial will be very unique in that the Service Branch Honor Wall will be made of special laser etched glass with built-in LED lighting. The four pentagon shaped pillars located around the park, will hold custom laser etched glass bricks. The inside of the pillar columns will have LED lighting. The ambiance and appeal of this memorial will be an attraction that will draw visitors from far and near. Three of those pillars are reserved for Military Veterans exclusively. Anyone may purchase an Honor Brick for any relative or friend, to be permanently displayed in this memorial. A brick may be purchased for $125.00 each but if you have three or more different individuals you wish to honor, you may purchase the bricks for only $100.00 each, if they are all purchased at the same time. The fourth pentagon pillar is reserved for corporations, businesses and individuals who support this project. Your donation will secure a designated advertising panel on the memorial, with varying options for sizes. The content and graphics of your panel can include any information, text, graphic, logo,photo, etc, that you wish to have permanently displayed. Promote your business or company in the memorial, recognize someone for their service to the community, acknowledge civilians with the DOD or honor an organization that had played an important role within the community. The opportunities are endless. These sponsorship panels will also be laser etched glass with LED back lighting. Sizes run from 4" x 8" to 16" x 20" in size and the prices range from $500.00 to $5,000.00. Committee Members are:

We need for everyone to come out and line the parade route Saturday. Blanchard is one of the few remaining cities that continues to hold a Veterans Parade. Also we need to be out there and validate why Blanchard was awarded the "Most Patriotic City in Oklahoma" this year.

Due to the inclement weather that we experienced during our Poker Rally, we have several extra T-shirts available for sale. If you would like to support the Veterans Memorial, stop by City Hall any Monday thru Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM. Shirts can be picked up for $10.00 each.

We also have Memorial patches and rockers from each year for sale, in case you are missing any. We also have commemorative poker chips from previous years. Another special offer, you may purchase T-shirts from previous years, for only $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00. Mix or match.

We have completed our location database and finalized the online search engine. This will allow anyone to locate an honor brick mounted anywhere in the memorial. Now, when anyone is at the Veterans Memorial Park, trying to find where their families honor brick is located, one can simply scan this QR Code and then enter the name. It will tell you which pentagon pillar, panel number and column where your honor brick is located. We will soon have panels displayed in each pentation pillar, so that anyone can scan the QR code on site and perform that search instantly.

FYI, there are still available spaces in the memorial for additional military veterans to be recognized and honored. Anyone may order a new Honor Brick online thru the city website at www.cityofblanchard.us/honorbricks/

This map shows parking locations around the Memorial for Friday's ceremony at 8:30 PM. Many street parking spots also available on surrounding streets, only two blocks away. Note that handicap parking will be located along the east side of the shopping center along Harrison.

On Friday evening, May 30th, at 8:30 PM, the city will be hosting the First Anniversary Ceremony for the Veterans Memorial Park. There have been a few challenging issues that had to be resolved in the last year. We have also placed some finishing touches on the memorial. This will be a unique opportunity for the attendees to experience the transformation of the memorial from daylight to dark. The attendees will get to witness the remarkable but sobering change of ambiance, as the lights take effect at night.

There will be plenty of parking provided across the street from the memorial, as well as at the school and neighboring churches. Several area businesses will also allow parking since this event is scheduled after their business hours. Even downtown parking is only two blocks away. I hope that you make plans to come out and enjoy the evening and recognize those brave men and women who have served our great country.

All Honor Bricks, that have been purchased thus far, have been installed. We have also replaced a couple of the wall panels and we are doing some cosmetic dress up work on the wall. Thank you for your support and a Merry Christmas to all.

Honor Bricks for Christmas!

The engraver has confirmed that if anyone orders a new Veterans Honor Brick by Friday, December 13th, they can be created and installed in the Veterans Memorial Park before Christmas. Give your family member or friend a unique gift of a lifetime. They may be ordered online at www.cityofblanchard.us or by dropping off your order form and payment at City Hall.
