Watch for an upcoming post giving details to a wonderful in person silent auction happening this coming Saturday night in Birch Bay! These two are part of the auction excitement!

For those of you who have been watching this project evolve it has taken me a few years and 7 broke down sewing machines to realize without a commercial grade sewing machine I will continue to buy affordable machines and watch them break down. So, as a result I am dreaming up a few ways to fundraise the money I need to purchase a commercial machine.

In May I had a very successful booth at the Concrete Flea Market, took donated items and some home baked goodies and made near to $900! A huge success!

In July I hope to repeat the booth at Concrete, any items you have to donate for the benefit of this project will be gratefully received. I will take any donation till July 15th.

In August I will have a succulent plant sale with more details to come. It will be an event here on Facebook.

In late September-early October I will be selling some monkeys and puppies also on a Facebook event in preparation for any of you or your friends to purchase a special critter for someone special at Christmas.

It’s that time of year……..time for the Skookum Kids Gala (Saturday, October 25, 2025) where much needed funds are raised for support services for foster kids in care! This is June Fraser Thistle speaking to you and hoping you can open your hearts and wallets in support of this incredibly worthwhile non-profit agency!

Our monkeys and puppies have been bringing joy to foster children who need emergency shelter at Skookum Kids, The Landing since December 2015! Isn’t that amazing that so many of you have supported this sock monkey project in countless ways, all for kids in need. It takes a village to raise kids, please be part of our community village through time, talent or funding!

This group of 10 “all dressed up” critters will attend the gala and be part of the auction in support of the vital work Skookum Kids does for our community. See next post for pictures of the critters excited to attend the gala! Whether you plan to attend or would just like to discover how you can help by donating, either for one of these amazing critters or otherwise, please reach out FAST to:
