Kiwanis Children's Garden

Kiwanis Children's Garden The Kiwanis Children's Garden was created to educate and enrich the children of our community.! In early spring, 2017, construction of four raised beds began.

In 2016, The Kiwanis Club of Gloucester Township formed a partnership with the Gloucester Township Police Department and became a sponsor of the Family Resource Center. Kids came together, vegetables were planted and a weekly Children’s Group began. In 2018 we expanded the vegetable garden and create a free, outdoor Children’s Little Free Library Station with dedicated reading area on site. In 201

9 we have added more raised beds. We involve the children in the life cycle of a garden from planting, maintaining, care, and harvesting of the garden. This is no cost to any of our guests, we simply want to do our part to engage and teach the children in our community. The program is geared for children in the K-5 range.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR- The Kiwanis Children’s Garden at the Gloucester Township PD Family Resource Center IS BACK! Opening day is on Monday, May 13th from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM!

Come out and claim your garden bed, it’s a great way to spend time as a family and grow your own veggies! There will be plants available, help with planting, and light refreshments. Tools will be provided.

The GT Children’s Garden, located at the Gloucester Township PD Family Resource Center, 1324 Little Gloucester Road, Blackwood NJ 08012 , is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of GT and the Gloucester Township Police. It is open to all Gloucester Township Families free of charge!

The Children’s Garden wrapped up the season on Thursday with pumpkin painting and a marshmallow roast. Thanks to the GTPD, Kiwanis Club, GTPW, Pine Hill Hardware, Hilltop Garden Center, and Dambly’s Garden Center for helping us all have a fun time this summer! We will see everyone for Spring Clean-up in March!
