Today was a powerful day for AEA Nation as our young leaders stepped into real-world learning, leadership, and community connection right here in Aiken, SC.
We had the honor of meeting Mayor Teddy Milner, who personally invited our young ladies to attend an upcoming Town Hall — a huge opportunity to see leadership in action.
From there, we continued building knowledge at the Center for African American History, Art & Culture, where we were welcomed by volunteer Ambria and engaged in meaningful conversation and learning.
We then took a major step forward by forming a partnership with the Second Circuit Solicitor’s Office, meeting with Robin Watson, Juvenile Arbitration Program Director, to help support and guide youth across Aiken, Barnwell, and Bamberg counties.
The day continued with a tour of the Aiken County Courthouse, giving our youth a firsthand look at the justice system.
We also visited Coastal Carolina National Bank, where Mary Smith (VP/Branch Manager) poured into the group with knowledge on financial literacy, savings, and building a strong future.
At the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Joseph Deese spoke with our youth about community, trust, and the role of law enforcement — reinforcing that unity is key.
We closed the day together at Chick-fil-A, sharing laughs, food, and ending with our signature AEA “Lock-It 🔒” gesture — a symbol of commitment, unity, and accountability.
