Rotary really is looking at doing some amazing things! Looking forward to see where this goes !!

This week’s Rotary program focused on addiction and overdose prevention as Larry Kenemore with the Rotary Action Group for Addiction Prevention introduced Project SMART.
The initiative focuses on five areas: School Learning, Medication & Drug Disposal, Awareness, Recovery and Treatment, giving Rotary clubs practical tools to support prevention, overdose response and recovery in their communities.
Kenemore shared a powerful story of one man who overcame decades of addiction and homelessness with support from his local Rotary Club. Today, he is a Rotarian, successful business owner and Project SMART board member.
Kenemore left the club with a simple challenge: “What’s your club going to do for one person?”
Representatives from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Blackshear Police Department and Blackshear Fire Department also joined us to learn more about the initiative.

We love to celebrate our educators and when our wheel picked all three from Blackshear Elementary that was not only convenient for delivery and pictures 😀 but also a testament to the love these teachers have from their community ❤️ we had over 114 teacher names tagged for the drawing!!

Caitlyn Ball was our grand prize winner, with Sarah Walley and Katie Flynn winning the two other little prize packs!

If you saw the Eagle in the parade, just know, I really, really, love making little kids smile. That costume was hot! 🥵 😂
