Northstar Church Being a Christian is not just about "attending" church services. It's about living for Jesus Christ and growing in a love relationship with God through Him.

Northstar is a hope-filled church seeking to lead people to discover life's ultimate joy in a relationship with Jesus Christ and helping them to "be the church." Northstar wants to encourage and equip others to ENJOY their relationship with God through joyful, loving obedience to Him.

This Sunday looks a little different at Northstar! We’re canceling our regular Sunday services to head out into our community and serve together.

BEing the church is about more than gathering on Sunday mornings. It’s about showing up, loving our neighbors, and putting our faith into action.

Haven’t signed up for a service team yet? There’s still time! Visit northstarfamily.org for more information and to find a team.

Not signed up but still want to get involved? We’ll have a team at Northstar from 9:30–11:30 AM writing cards for our local Agape Center, and they’d love for you to stop by and help.

Sunday’s pouring rain was yet another reminder of what we talked about in our study of John 2 on Sunday: Jesus is Lord and we are not! Despite the weather, we had a great time worshiping, learning, and growing in Jesus.

Next Sunday (Oct 18) will be a special day for us as we cancel services at the church and head into the community to serve. We will be back to our normal schedule on 10/25, so make plans to come see us then!

Sunday morning was full of reminders of God’s goodness. As we sang, we remembered that our good Father has plans that give us a hope that is unshakeable. As we studied God’s word we saw that, in light of all our searching, Jesus invites us to come and see who he is and what a life spent following him can mean. We ended our service with communion, remembering Jesus’ sacrifice for us.

This past Sunday was a significant Sunday at Northstar as our members renewed their commitments to the Lord and his church during our annual Covenant Renewal Service. Our study of John 1:35-42 challenged us to remember the curiosity and wonder we experienced when we first came to Christ and challenged us to bring others to Jesus.

What a celebration we had this Sunday! We rejoiced as we witnessed four individuals declare their faith in Christ publicly through baptism, and celebrated how God has worked through Matt Simpson in his 10 years on staff, and Carri Drake for her 5 years on staff. As we sang, we stood back in amazement at our great God and King. From the message, we were challenged that real freedom begins when we step off the throne of our lives and give attention to the One who belongs there.

We know we are halfway through September, but our minds are already on some special Sundays coming up in October. Swipe through to find two special Sundays you won't want to miss.

On October 18, we have our annual BEnGO Sunday. On that day, we will not have services in the building at Northstar so our small groups and church family can serve the community. Watch for more info on how to get involved soon.

The next week, October 25, we will have normal morning services and then head to Thornspring Pastures in Pulaski for pumpkins, hayrides, and great times with our church family and friends. Tickets will go on sale on 9/27.

From the music, to the message, to the Ministry Fair in the hall, we had the privilege of exalting Jesus in every part of our Sunday morning this week. We dove into the rich truths in John 1:14-18, reminding ourselves that Jesus is the same God he has always been, full of grace and truth. Looking at Jesus that way meant we couldn’t help but end the service singing, “What a God!”
