What an incredible 6 days in St. Lucia! 🇱🇨

In less than a week, we helped establish a fully functional prosthetic lab while also building 10 Hope To Walk prosthetic legs, giving 10 amputees the opportunity to walk again.

The response from the community, local medical professionals and the minister of Health has been overwhelming. They were amazed by the simplicity, durability, and effectiveness of the Hope To Walk prosthetic design and the life-changing impact it can have.

But this is only the beginning.

We are already planning our return with a sustainable program that will provide 50 more prosthetic legs while training a local prosthetist to continue serving patients long after our team leaves. Our vision is to create a lasting solution that empowers St. Lucia to care for its own amputee community for years to come.

Today marked the end of an incredible week clinic in Saint Lucia, where 10 amputees took their first steps toward a new future with a prosthetic leg provided completely free of charge. ❤️🦿

We are grateful to see our mission being shared across the island as Phil Johnson explains the vision of Hope To Walk: a future where Saint Lucia becomes the model for the Caribbean, proving that it is possible to identify, serve, and restore mobility to nearly every amputee in need through collaboration, compassion, and sustainable local training.

This is more than a mission trip. It is the beginning of a movement to ensure that no amputee is left behind.

80% of the patients we serve lost their leg because of diabetes.

That’s why education matters just as much as the prosthetic leg itself. Today, we handed out diabetes education pamphlets designed to help patients and families better understand how to care for their health and protect the limb they still have.

For many, losing one leg becomes the wake-up call they never received before. But with the right information, support, and prevention, another amputation can often be avoided.

A prosthetic leg gives someone the chance to walk again. Education gives them the chance to keep walking. ❤️
