The U.S. M2 60 mm mortar was the standard light infantry company support weapon of World War II. Derived from the French Brandt design, it offered a lightweight, portable method for troops to deliver high-angle explosive firepower to suppress enemy positions beyond rifle range.

Congratulations to Jason Romero! He was the winning bidder on the United States Flag that was jumped into Normandy on original drop zones for the 80th anniversary (June 4, 5 & 6, 2024) of "Operation Overlord" (D-day). This flag was jumped and carried by the Museum president/founder, Joseph Collins. Thank you to all who participated!

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ On behalf of everyone involved, thank you to all who attended our D-Day Remembrance Event. Your presence helped honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the brave soldiers who fought in Normandy on June 6, 1944, and changed the course of history.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our incredible volunteers. Events like this are only possible because of your dedication, hard work, and willingness to serve behind the scenes. Thank you for helping make the day such a success.

A special thank you goes out to Mission BBQ for providing delicious food and supporting our mission of honoring Americaโ€™s heroes. We are also grateful to Carol Leeโ€™s Donuts for the wonderful treats that everyone enjoyed.

Most importantly, thank you to our veterans, active-duty service members, military families, and community members who came together to remember and reflect on the legacy of the Greatest Generation around the world.

We are honored to share these moments with all of you and look forward to continuing our mission of preserving and sharing history for future generations.
