1944 Cushman 53

“Airborne” FOR SALE…

Unfortunately, I am parting with my beloved “Airborne” in order to make room for other items in the Museum and to pay for those items.

This is a perfect and original 53 that came out of Andrew O’bryans collection a few years ago.

This scooter needs absolutely nothing, starts and runs perfectly!

Please PM me to ask any questions that you may have.

For those that know me, this is something I never thought I would have or need to do.

WHAT A NIGHT!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Our first annual World War II swing dance was a huge success!

A big thank you to The Old Pros Big Band and everyone who came out to support the World War II museum of the NRV.

Seeing everyone dressed up, dancing, and enjoying a little step back in time made the night extra special.

Technical Sergeant P. D. Ralston, Jr. served in the 569th Bomber Squadron, 390th Bomber Group, as Flight Engineer and Top Turret Gunner on B-17 #42-107010 "Glory Ann Il" (aka
"Close Prop") during World War II. The parachute on display was returned to T/Sgt Ralston's family with/on top of his casket.
"The Glory Ann Il" crashed near the village of Parham, England at 0835, 27 December 1944, one minute after takeoff on a mission targeting Fulda, Germany. The B-17's wings developed heavy icing causing fatal control issues. All nine crew members, including T/Sgt P. D. Ralston, Jr. perished in the crash.
A plaque in St. May's Church, Parham, England was erected in memory of the crew from aircraft #42-107010 that crashed on 27 December 1944. The Plaque lists the names and rank of each crew member and is inscribed with the following:
"THEY GAVE THEIR LIVES IN DEFENCE (British Spelling) OF LIBERTY"
