Virginia Rural Health Association at Virginia Tech

Our chapter is a part of the Virginia Rural Health Association, whose headquarters are located here in Blacksburg.

We strive to educate Virginia Tech students of health-related career opportunities in rural areas, the current health issues facing rural regions, and current policies and procedures affecting rural Virginia. Through this partnership, we hope to bring awareness to the vast opportunities available in rural areas, as well as the great need present in such regions. Through service opportunities, gues

t speakers, and the like we hope to expose our members to a greater view of medicine in which rural health is a key component. This education and service is not constrained to just Virginia, but we hope to facilitate the develop of globally minded members willing to serve their communities, nation, and world as a whole.

Tonight's meeting will be taking place in McBryde 210 from 7-8pm! It will now be a shorter meeting so that our new officer team can introduce themselves, and so that we can tell you all a little bit more about the club. Hope to see everyone there!

Our first meeting of the semester will be this Wednesday, January 30! It will most likely be held in Wallace 234, but stay tuned for room confirmation. We'll talk a little about what VRHA is, and then we'll watch "Remote Area Medical"- a documentary about a RAM clinic in Bristol, TN. Hope to see you all there!
