Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, or SEDS for short, is an international, independent, student-based organization which, true to our namesake, promote the exploration and development of space. Our Virginia Tech chapter is an exciting part of this organization. SEDS believes in a space-faring civilization and that focusing the enthusiasm of young people is the key to our future

in space. SEDS pursues this mission by educating people about the benefits of space, by supporting a network of interested students, by providing an opportunity for members to develop their leadership skills, and inspiring people through our involvement in space-related projects.

SPRING UPDATE 🚀
SEDS plans on hosting a series of rocket build sessions to assist members in earning their level one rocket certifications. This entails constructing a rocket from a L1 rocket certification kit and launching it at Kentland Farms in late April. Earning an L1 certification is a great introduction to rocketry and also allows you to build rockets with more powerful motors in the future!
In addition to the Level One certifications, SEDS also plans to assist a limited number of members who already have their L1 certifications with obtaining their Level Two certifications. If you are interested in either the L1 or L2 certification, please fill out the google form below!
