Blacksburg Community Band

So… this happened. 🌊🦈 🌊 And No, it unfortunately was not AI… 🤣

This was our final rehearsal before the concert this coming Sunday, October 18th at 3pm at Blacksburg High School.

If you don’t want to miss great stuff like this (and some pretty fantastic music to go with it!), make plans to be there.

As always, it is free, and there will be a reception after where you can fill yourself with cookies and cakes, or just chat with our musicians and maybe even meet Jaws himself, our music director James Bean!

Whose musicians and supporters are still the best?

OURS ARE!!

Remember that we don’t win automatically with the most votes, but it *greatly* increases our chances when the prize wheel spins on November 4th!! Keep voting through October 16th: https://poll-maker.com/poll5861693x88814d90-169

Voting continues until October 16th, so don't let your foot off the gas: More votes ==> the biggest slice of the prize wheel ==> higher chances of winning $2500, $5k or $10k in the live drawing on November 4th!

We would love your support in this contest that could win our band up to $10k!

The Solomon Blacksburg Give A Chance GAC contest is back for a third time, and this year over fifty registered 501(c)(3) non-profit orgs with ties to the New River Valley can win a portion of $25k! Each org can win: $2500 (two), $5000 (two) or $10000 (one).

Once a day until October 16th, supporters can vote for their favorite organization. You don't have to live in Blacksburg, create an account or log in, so it only takes about 30 seconds each day. The number of votes dictates the size of our "slice" of the prize wheel, and a live drawing on November 4th spins the wheel to determine the winners. The more votes... the bigger the slice... the higher the chance of winning one of the 5 prize amounts! 🥰

We'd love your vote, but if not then we encourage you to support SOMEONE because all of these non-profit organizations deserve support. And you don't have to vote for the same group every day, you can spread the love!

Just go to this link ( https://poll-maker.com/poll5861693x88814d90-169 ), scroll until you see our Band’s tuba logo, pick it, scroll to the very bottom and click VOTE!!!

We thank you, and we would also love to see you on Sunday October 18th for our first concert of the season, our Fall Concert at 4pm at Blacksburg High School!

It's almost here, the Solomon Blacksburg Give A Chance GAC contest is back!

I hear you saying "But, how can I help?". Well let me tell you. You can help us get a giant slice -- Of the prize wheel, that is!

The more votes we get from our supporters between 9/16/2026 - 10/16/2026 the larger our slice is on the prize wheel, which increases our chances of winning one of the following during the live drawing on 11/4/2026:

* One GRAND PRIZE: $10,000
* One of two second place prizes: $5,000 each
* One of two third place prizes: $2,500 each

We had the third highest number of votes in 2025, and a lucky spin won us one of the $5000 second place prizes!

Tomorrow I will post a link so you can vote once a day for the next month, which only takes a few seconds. Let's do this!
