We aim to be the home you make with the family you choose. They host a variety of events throughout the year as well as over the summer.

Pride Council Elections Are Coming Up!

Looking for a way to get involved?
Want to make a difference?

Pride Council aims to help LGBTQ+ folks feel at home on campus and in our community. We celebrate the individual, cultural, and racial diversities that exist in the Q***r and Transgender communities through inclusive programming, advocacy, and most importantly working with the community!

We receive Student Activity Funds ($$$) to do this work.
Our executive committee & office board work with our community to:
• host LGBTQ+ speakers on campus
• provide free sexual health resources
• bring in gender-affirming services
• organize community gatherings

The Q*mmunity Support Group welcomes all currently enrolled Virginia Tech students who are exploring their gender, sexual, and romantic identities. Participants are welcome to come late or leave early as needed.

Student models will be showing off their favorite streetwear, cultural garb, and formalwear. All are encouraged to participate! Sign up to walk in the show through the QR code or through the link in the Pride Center’s bio.

Attendees will learn about each of the six cultural centers, their affiliated student organizations, upcoming events, and resources! This is also a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and welcome new members of the Hokie community at this event. There will be swag, giveaways, food, music, and more!

Zine Workshop 1-3pm in the Pride Center October 9th and November 6th
Contribute to the end-of-the-year zine or just make art. Good vibes and snacks provided.

Zines (pronounced “ZEENS”) credit their origin to the 1930s and 40s with the creation of a self-published, short magazine by science-fiction fans to discuss the content that they loved. These fan-made zines became widely popular in the 60s and 70s. With the invention of the copy machine and copy shops becoming widely available in the 1970s, the production and growth of the format expanded, and the style of zines was revamped into a more do-it-yourself style. In the 1980s and 1990s, the Riot Grrrl and queercore subcultures inspired a proliferation of zines made by individuals across the globe.

zines can be funny, angry, educational or just cool looking. they are meant to share what’s important to you and your community.

some zines are small like Dr. Bing’s favorite, this one is a love letter to butch, nonbinary and gender non-conforming le****ns.

at zine workshop you can make your own zine or just make a page for the end-of-the-year zine!
