As YMCA Camp Cherokee continues to work towards making summer 2027 the best summer yet, we have some exciting leadership changes to share with our Camp Cherokee family.

After years of serving as our Executive Director, Will "Happy" Gilmore will be stepping into a new role within our YMCA association as Vice President of Youth Development and Programs. In this position, Will will work alongside our YMCA's various branches to strengthen youth programs, develop best practices, explore new program opportunities, and support the continued growth of youth development across our YMCA. He will also continue to have a direct connection to Cherokee by serving as the direct supervisor of our new Executive Director.

With Will's transition, we are excited to announce that Ian Estes will be stepping into the role of Executive Director at YMCA Camp Cherokee. Ian has served as Camp's Assistant Director since 2020 and has a deep understanding of Camp Cherokee's mission, community, culture, and history.

As we look ahead, we are excited to maintain our commitment to provide a place where campers can build self-esteem, friendships, and character while creating memories that last a lifetime! Open enrollment will proceed as scheduled and open at 10 AM on Monday, October 12th.
