Special Olympics Virginia - Southwest Region Special Olympics Virginia The Southwest Region of Special Olympics Virginia serves 21 counties and 6 cities in the southwest corner of the state.

The Region includes the Roanoke Valley, the New River Valley and extends through to the borders of West Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. Three Area programs are organized to serve the Region. Area 8 includes: Boutetourt, Craig, Franklin, and Roanoke Co.; Salem and Roanoke.--Area 9 includes: Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, and Wythe Counties; Radford, Bl

acksburg, Christiansburg, and Galax. Area 10 includes: Buchanan, Wise, Lee, Scott, Smyth, Washington, Tazewell, Russell, Dickenson Counties and Bristol and Norton.
