We hear it all the time: Another rural community hospital is shutting its doors or limiting its services due to lack of funding, leaving patients without access to even the most basic of services. At the same time, urban hospitals are taking advantage of a loophole known as “dual-classification,” siphoning resources from the 340B government program intended to support rural providers.
That’s why the National Grange is sounding the alarm and calling on congressional candidates nationwide to commit to protecting rural healthcare and restoring accountability to the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program.
Congress must ensure that this important program continues to serve the patients, providers, and communities it was created to help.
