Some delicious looking veggie penne pasta meals were just delivered to the community fridge by a worker at Millstone, another local nonprofit. Southpaw volunteers drive their meals to seniors in Christiansburg every week and they had some extra yesterday. If you are struggling with food security the fridge is here for ya 💪 it's behind 202 S. Main St. down some stairs on the basement level.
Wanted to post as well to let people know about Millstone / Live Work Eat Grow, another amazing local nonprofit that's focused on food security for the community and helping local entrepreneurs get their food businesses off the ground!

Beef alert! There's almost half a cow in the community freezer thanks to this lady and her laundry hamper of beef. The date on the packaging is the date the cow was killed, it's good for 4 years so long as it stays frozen.

The NRV Glean Team is looking for volunteers for the potato drop on November 10 and 11. We have a few people already signed but could use a couple more. The ask is to sort good/bad potatoes and drive some potatoes to the Southpaw Cafe. Show up with us on November 11 8-9:30am or 9:30-11 am. The location is the Christiansburg Montgomery County Christmas Store parking lot!
