As growth continues to head into the Blacksburg Fire District, members of our department continue to plan for the emergency responses that come with it. Some members have spent the past few days attending the SC Firefighter Conference to train on topics including electric vehicle emergency response, fire suppression in multi-family dwellings, building construction and fire code standards and much more. Today, members of our Chief Staff also met with representatives from ISO (Verisk Analytics) in order to keep up with changes related to insurance evaluations that have an impact on homeowners insurance in our district.
