If you would like to sing one of the solos for our community’s performance of Handel’s Messiah this year, we invite you to come and audition!

Please be prepared to sing one of the solos from the Messiah. Below is a list of solos that we have performed in past years but you are not limited to this list.

This is a true community event with all of the orchestra and choir members and soloists drawn from our local area. We would love to have you come and share your talents too!

If being in the choir is more your vibe we still need more choir members and would love to have you join! There are no auditions for the choir and you can read more about the choir in our previous post.

The marvelous and talented Sherilynn Goodworth will be conducting the choir rehearsals this year which will be in the Jr. High auditorium. The orchestra rehearsals will be next door in the music room.

We need as many choir members as we can get and we can always use more orchestra members.

Please come join us! (Tentative performance date is Dec. 13th.)

This Fall we will be rehearsing Handel’s Messiah with a choir and soloists for a performance in December. We have been doing this nearly every other year since 2007. This year we have decided to add some extra orchestra rehearsals on Wednesday evenings for the month of July to give ourselves some extra practice time before we add in the choir and soloists. Anyone who would like to play in the orchestra is welcome to attend!

What you need to know:

*Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. starting on July 1st and continuing through July 29th.
*Bring a stand if you have one. We will be meeting at the church at 845 Grant Street (across from Walgreens) and there are a limited number of music stands available.
*Music will be available, however, if you have your own copy please bring it (we use the Prout edition).
*If you cannot come every week, come when you can.
*If you are interested in being part of the choir and/or singing a solo, more information will be coming later in the summer. Subscribe or follow us to be the first to know!

This Spring Concert features a selection of music that all have a connection to water. Starting with 2 movements from Handel's iconic Water Music, continuing with music about rivers, lakes and oceans, sailors and pirates, this is a concert not to be missed! Please come join us on April 23. We would love to share this musical journey with you!

First practice for our spring concert is this Wednesday, January 14th at 6:30pm Snake River Jr High School out west of Blackfoot. Pick up your instrument and come!

Come celebrate the magic of winter with the crisp air, first snow fall, jingling bells and the anticipation of Christmas at our Winter Concert. We will be playing a variety of music from Mozart to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Admission is free.

Hello Everyone!

Time flies when you're having fun (and even when you aren't really)! I hope you've had a good summer though. This summer seems like it has flown by and it is time to start rehearsals for our Winter Concert. I'm picking out a wide variety of music to start out with because I'm not sure how many of you will be able to come and play with us this time. I would love to have every one of you back, especially brass, woodwind and percussion players!! We'll start narrowing down the music choices at our first rehearsal based on what instruments we have so please let me know if you want to come play with us but can't make it to the first rehearsal.

We will start our rehearsals next week on Wednesday, September 10th. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Snake River Junior High music room. We'll most likely move over the High School in November but I will let you know about that later after the scheduling is confirmed.

Our concert date is tentatively set for Friday, December 12th with the dress rehearsal on December 11th but those dates are not set in stone yet. I would like your feedback before I schedule the auditorium so we'll talk about it at our first rehearsal.

I'm looking forward to making music with you again and I hope to see you next Wednesday!

We invite you to join us for our Spring Concert on Thursday, April 17th, titled “The Art of the Solo” featuring a variety of talented soloists and music styles. We have concertos, themes and songs from Schindler’s List, The Mission, On the Town, Wicked, plus ballet and program music. Please join us for this fun evening!

We’ve been working for months as an orchestra, choir and soloists and now our performance date is almost here. It will be Sunday evening, December 15th, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the Snake River High School Auditorium. We would love for you to come join us!
