Sunday Service, June 21, 2026: "To love boldly is to extend grace when it is difficult, to seek justice when it is costly, and to welcome others as Christ has welcomed us. Bold love crosses boundaries, builds bridges, and reflects God's unconditional love for all people. As followers of Jesus, we are called not only to speak about love but to embody it in our daily lives, our communities, and our witness to the world."

This year, the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference will focus on the theme "Love Boldly." This is the first part of the United Methodist Church's three-year vision:

❤️ Love Boldly
🤝 Serve Joyfully
🕊️ Lead Courageously

Grounded in Matthew 22:37–39, we will gather at the Cathedral of the Rockies in Boise for three days of worship, learning, discernment, and fellowship as we seek to love God and our neighbors more deeply.

Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church will be represented by two lay members, along with Rev. Marvel Souza and Raphael Lira, as we join United Methodists from across Oregon and Idaho.

As we travel and gather together, we pray:

"May God bless our departure and our arrival, and bless everyone who will be there. May the Lord watch over our coming and going, both now and forevermore. 🙏"

— Rev. Marvel SouzaNote: Matthew 22:37–39 is the passage that contains "Love the Lord your God..." and "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Sunday Service, June 14, 2026: "John Wesley understood this well. Wesley taught that faith naturally produces works of mercy and acts of compassion. Faith is not a private feeling hidden inside us. It is a transforming relationship with God that overflows into service. As Methodists, we believe grace changes us so that we can participate in God's work in the world. Faith in action moves us forward." Rev. Marvel Souza

Sunday Service, June 7, 2026: "The Holy Spirit often moves faster than the church. Throughout history, the church has repeatedly discovered that God is already present among people whom others overlooked, excluded, or underestimated.
The Spirit keeps reminding us: God's family is bigger than we imagined."

We had our first meeting for an exciting new project called Faith and Flavor, a devotional and recipe book led by Pastor Marvel Souza at Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church

This project brings together food, faith, and community in a meaningful way. While preparing your favorite dishes, you’ll be invited to reflect on meal prayers and enjoy stories and spiritual reflections shared by our writers.

We are excited about what is ahead and would love for others to be part of this journey, sharing recipes, memories, and faith that nourish both body and soul.

What a blessed Sunday at Jason Lee UMC!

We gathered together for a meaningful time of worship, heartfelt prayers, and an encouraging message from God's Word. It was wonderful to feel God's presence as we lifted our voices and hearts together.

We also had the joy of recognizing and celebrating our graduates. We are proud of their accomplishments and pray that God will continue to guide and bless them as they begin this new chapter in their lives.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this day so special. We are grateful for our church family and the many ways God is at work among us.

To God be the glory!
