This program will be held outside, so please dress warmly. We have just a few children's folding chairs, so if you would like to be sure to have a seat other than the ground, please plan to bring chairs or blankets to sit on.

As posted previously, we will be closed for the Federal Holiday on Monday, October 12th.

Book Club will meet Tuesday, October 13th at 10am. Newcomers are always welcome! We will discuss our current book, The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly and we will check out our new book Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead.

This is what it looks like to .
Right here in Black River, approximately 50 children receive a free book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Behind every book is a community of people who believe in the power of giving—our donors, volunteers, local partners and supporters who help make this program possible.
On September 25, Give Like Dolly Day, you can help us reach even more children and families in Black River. Every gift helps us continue building a community where children can grow up surrounded by the joy of books and reading.
Help us make an even bigger impact for the children of Black River: https://donate.imaginationlibrary.com
Reminder to Select “NYBLACKRIVER” when asked to which program you would like to specifically donate to, as it tracks directly to us instead of the overall Imagination Library Program. Please see the second photo to confirm you are sending it to the right place.
Thank You!!

Today, we’re celebrating the people who .
To everyone who has donated, volunteered, spread the word, partnered with us or simply believes every child should have books of their own: thank you.
Because of you, currently 48 children in the Black River community and surrounding coverage areas receive a free book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Your generosity helps bring the joy of reading into homes, spark imaginations and create special moments between children and the people who love them.
Dolly often called her Local Imagination Library Partners the “true heroes” of her program. We’re so grateful to have a community that continues that spirit of giving.
Thank you for helping us carry on Dolly's legacy by giving back to the children of the Black River community.

Give Like Dolly Day is coming September 25!
Dolly Parton believed in giving back and helping children dream bigger—and this year, we’re celebrating that spirit right here in Black River, NY through Give Like Dolly Day.
On September 25, we’re inviting our community to join us in giving back to children by supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of the Sally Ploof Hunter Memorial Library. Your support helps make it possible for children in our community to receive a free, high-quality book every month from birth to age 5.
Stop into the Sally Ploof Hunter Library on September 25th for the following:
• Dolly Parton’s music will be playing all day long. So come in and enjoy the selections of Dolly (most likely from Amazon music).
• Each child that comes in that day will receive a FREE BOOK. There is no age limit.
• There will be plenty of coloring sheets and activities, that all center around Dolly and the Imagination Library.
Also, it’s the perfect time to sign up your child for the Imagination Library Program. We will have sign up sheets ready, and it’s free for ALL children under 5 Years Old.
Stay tuned to our social media for more information on the event and how to donate to the Imagination Library!
