The Friends have been in contact with Santa and he's agreed to return for a special storytime on Friday, Dec. 19 at 3:30 p.m.! Bring the young kids for a reading, special gift, and an opportunity to learn more about the Friends and Black River Falls Public Library. This year, we're grateful toTheisen's for a grant to help us provide the book gifts at storytime.

We were absolutely thrilled to honor longtime Black River Falls Public Library employee Vicki Fisher at our Annual Meeting in October! The Friends presented Vicki with a Special Recognition Friend of the Friends Award for her nearly 20 years of working at the library. She remains known as a friendly, helpful and well-recognized face of the staff who has assisted thousands of patrons and community members throughout the years.

As Vicki gets closer to retirement later this month, please join us in celebrating her! Share fond memories in the comments. 🫶 Thank you, Vicki! We appreciate you.

The season is drawing near, which means it's time to Deck the Shelves! Join Friends members as we get the library decorated and festive for the holidays. Community members are welcome to join us on Monday, Nov. 17 at 3:30 p.m. for this fun annual experience! We hope to see you - and we'll be happy to share more about becoming a Friends member, too. 🎄💚❤️

🫶 WOW! We are humbled and thankful. This year's Fall Book Sale set YET ANOTHER fundraising record thanks to the generous and thoughtful donations of the community. These contributions will help us support the library with programs, materials, events, and so much more. We'll share some more details soon, but, for now, THANK YOU!

What a fall it has been! It's been wonderful to connect with the community, including by honoring WWIS Radio FM 99.7-The Star and AM 1260 FM 105.3 The Hill with the 2025 Friend of the Friends Award. WWIS received the recognition at the Friends of the BRF Public Library’s Annual Meeting held Monday, Oct. 20. The award honors local businesses, organizations and individuals whose support of the Friends goes above and beyond to assist the library and, by extension, the community at large.

"We are so appreciative of strong community partners, businesses, and groups who help support the Friends' mission to enrich the library and its programming," said Joan Zenz, Friends group chairperson. "We extend our deep gratitude to WWIS and its entire staff for our partnership that we hope continues for years to come."

We have an idea! Have lunch and get goodies at Co-op Credit Union for International Credit Union Day and then stop on down to the library for the Fall Book Sale. Both support great causes! 💕
