Happy World Water Monitoring Day! It is admittedly obscure, but a great time to share that our autumn SMIE stream monitoring workshop will be this October 4th at UNC-Asheville and a nearby stream. Come learn about aquatic invertebrates: stoneflies, mayflies, caddisflies, snails, worms, mussels, crustaceans, etc. Help us monitor streams in WNC and add to the program's 21 years of water quality assessments. Next Saturday, April 18th, is EQI's Spring Stream Monitoring Workshop! Join us from 9am to 4pm to learn how to collect and identify aquatic invertebrates and how we gauge water quality based on which ones we find in our local creeks. The workshop is free, open to adults and teenagers (16+ or with a parent), no prior experience is needed, and we provide all the gear!
