Events, conferences, offers and all kinds of goings-on will be posted here in this community. We seek to provide a platform for life-long learning. While there are many incredible benefits from the recent boom in social technology, most would agree relationships have suffered. We aspire to become the place where one can recapture the joy of interpersonal relationships in the wonder of God’s creati

on. Our goal is to equip people of all ages not only for success in a global society, but for a well-balanced life in spirit, mind and body. When Dr. Weatherford founded YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly, he did so based on five guiding principles that we still follow:

* Serving others and honoring the dignity of labor are the highest forms of leadership.
* Personal responsibility for one’s development and behavior is central to achieving our God given potential.
* Faith is the foundation to living a values-based life.
* All people are created in the image of God and are worthy of love and respect.
* We believe that to be in relationship with others, it is important to be in relationship with our Creator and there is no better place to be in communion with Him than in the beauty of his Creation. These principles are incorporated into our cause and plans for the future; they provide a strong foundation for growth and a value system from which to take our next steps. OUR CAUSE DEFINES US

YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly has a century-long tradition of impacting lives, serving youth and shaping tomorrow's leaders. We are proud of our Christian heritage and strive every day to fulfill the cause of the Y in strengthening youth, families, and communities. OUR VALUES

At the Y, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential and live their best lives. The YMCA’s core values serve as our guide, helping those we serve to be more healthy, confident, connected, and secure. CARING - HONESTY - RESPECT - RESPONSIBILITY - FAITH

OUR FOCUS

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: Nurturing the potential of every child and teen
HEALTHY LIVING: Improving the health and well-being of those in our community
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Giving back and providing support for our neighbors

Our Spring Volunteer Weekend is in the books!

An incredible 189 combined hours of service was spent weeding, mulching, cleaning, repairing, painting and MORE to prepare the Mountain for the busy summer season. We are grateful for these amazing people!

Don't worry, they had fun too! Old friends, Y Professionals, staff alumni and families came together to reconnect, laugh and give back to a place they hold special.

Help us thank them and celebrate their hard work!

We can’t get enough of these blue sky days.

The debris was overwhelming 😔🏚️, but so was the response.💪

“The volume of debris and destruction was huge, but so was the volume of tools and hope that showed up in the ToolBank trailer.” – Greg | YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly

Because when tools arrive, recovery begins!🚚🛠️

“The support from ToolBank allowed us to first help ourselves so we could then help our neighbors.”

That’s how communities rebuild together 💙🤝

Over the next few days, our team will be on the ground in Hot Springs, NC, working alongside our friends at The Home Depot Foundation and Appalachia Service Project to continue this critical work.🏡🛠️ Stay tuned for more project photos in the coming weeks.📸

We are just 3 days away from the 2026 Volunteer Service Weekend! We already have 15 amazing people signed up to spend their weekend preparing the Mountain for the summer. There is still time to join the fun! Registration closes tomorrow morning.

Let's meet one more amazing volunteer who helped prepare for reopening in 2025.

Meet Wayne!

Wayne can be described in many ways - a committed mentor, a dedicated firefighter, a great friend and a long time volunteer at YMCA Blue Ridge!

"I decided to come back to the Assembly to help out with the recovery efforts for reopening because I wanted to give back to the place that helped me grow into the person I am today. I have had the privilege of attending Blue Ridge for the last 16 years, it was the easiest decision to try and give back to my second home."

Register today to be like Wayne!
