MARCH ACROSS DIXIE 24 YEARS AGO

13 OCT HK/s brother, Terry Lee marked the 24th anniversary of his brother HK's, March Across Dixie by march with a battleflag, the first 20 miles of the March - going to Hendersonville, NC. My 4 year old daughter Katerine and and I made the first 10 miles with HK back in 2002, my boys made it to Hendersonville with HK.

SLRC will be making plans for the 25th anniversary of the March Across dixie, so stay tuned for details!

PLANS ADVANCE to return Confederate "Reconciliation" memorial to Arlington National Cemetery

The memorial to the Confederacy is undergoing renovations before it's replaced placed at Arlington National Cemetery.

Plans are moving forward to bring a Confederate memorial back to Arlington National Cemetery three years after it was illegally removed.
A representative from the Office of Army Cemeteries presented final design plans for the statue to the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts during a meeting Thursday morning. (See link below for Power Point presentation)
The statue, unveiled in 1914, features a bronze woman, crowned with olive leaves, standing on a 32-foot pedestal, and was designed to represent the American New South.
It is undergoing renovations at a conservator in western Virginia and is expected to be placed back at Arlington in April of next year.

Confederate memorial being removed from Arlington National Cemetery in 2023
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced last year the statue would be returned to the cemetery as part of President Donald Trump's push to combat what the "erasing of American history." It looks like this is a promise being kept.
Hegseth said on social media the Arlington statue “never should have been taken down by woke lemmings. Unlike the Left, we don’t believe in erasing American history — we honor it.”
When the statue is re-installed, there are plans for new signage near it that will offer context about its history. The new signage is considered unnecessary by the Ezekiel Family and several heritage coalition groups who will be lobbying the Army to drop that part of the restoration plan.

Passage of NDAA 2027 is stalled, the Senate & House will create a joint Conference Committee to work out the difference so the Bill can be passed into. We don't have names of the Committee members but we are working on it.

The Kaine Amendment (Sec 365) remains in the Senate version and the Strickland Amendment remains in the House version. Both amendments could threaten the Reconciliation Memorial restoration in Arlington National Cemetery

Please call Sen. Roger F. Wicker (Chairman, Senate Armed Svs Committee) and Rep. Mike Rogers (Chairman, House Armed Svs Committee) (202-224-3121) that the woke, anti-Arlington Kaine/Strickland Amendments need to be stripped OUT of the final NDAA bill.

My #4 son, Robert Lyons, lives in the mountains of Western, NC. He is 30 years old and married for the first time in Nov 2025. His wife left him a letter stating "I never loved you, I tried to, but couldn't" and abandoned him in February 2026 and left the state with no forwarding address. She was found 2 months ago, pregnant, and living 1000 miles away in a small town in the Texas Panhandle.
The baby was born 18 SEP 2026, a girl and my son wants and needs to visit his child. When he meets his wife and child they need to discuss whether marital reconciliation is possible, whether a divorce is necessary and a workable custody agreement - all hopefully amicable and in the best interest of the child. There may be voluntary or court ordered mediation, hospital costs for the birth, airfare, lodging & car rental. It all adds up and the process, esp if the courts get involved, will be long and expensive. Right now, visitation has been refused.
Money is needed so that my son will be able to fly back & forth to Texas for visitation, including any upcoming legal proceedings and costs, without losing his job.
Obviously many of the facts are left out to protect as much as possible the privacy of the parties!

Taking a different tack today for the Update. Dixie Toon creator Kevin King did an AI photo of my Confederate ancestor, my GGGrandfather, Ganum S. Lyons, Captain John S. White's Company, the Sons of '76" Co. H 26th (O'Neal's) Alabama Infantry Regiment. Original photo for comparison was made in October 1861. Hopeful next step will be to give GGGrandaddy a voice and animate him with a timely message to his descendants.

The Amelia phenomena in Britain has shown how revolutionary a weapon AI can be in getting out our heretofore restricted message to potentially millions of our fellow countrymen. AN ACT OF POLITICAL TERRORISM

Nearly a decade after its controversial removal from Hillsborough County’s old courthouse, a Confederate war memorial is now the subject of a criminal investigation involving a missing head.
One of the two soldier figures that comprise the 115-year-old marble monument called “Memoria in Aeterna,” which has sat in the private Brandon Family Cemetery since it was relocated from downtown Tampa in 2017, was recently vandalized and smeared with graffiti in an act of political terrorism.
The soldier’s head appears to have been sliced clean off.
“It’s not broken, it was cut off,” said Kelly McLaren, executive director of Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay. “Someone went to some effort to accomplish this.”
A spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it was investigating but had no other information.

CNN wasted no time weighing in:

Trump administration rewrites history with change to Confederate monument description

(This week) President Donald Trump’s administration has installed a new informational plaque that "sanitizes" a former memorial to the Confederacy as Pete Hegseth’s Defense Department prepares to return the “racist” sculpture to Arlington National Cemetery.
The Confederate Memorial was removed from the cemetery in 2023 after Congress passed a law requiring the U.S. military to change property names and remove symbols honoring the Confederacy.
It was replaced with a (Biden era) marker explaining that the monument had portrayed a “nostalgic, mythologized vision of the Confederacy, including highly sanitized depictions of slavery” in the form of a “Mammy” figure and a “faithful slave” following his owner to war.

Of the media surveyed only the EPOCH TIMES wrote a balanced story on the TRUMP ADMIN announcement.

The Trump Admin released the information and the the Left has now swung into action - we must counter the leftist thrust!
The Left will never let go of this, and though the old pre-Biden explanatory plaque was not perfect - it was a far sight less mean spirited than the Lloyd Austin replacement. We will work with the Ezekiel Family and Arlington National Cemetery to further improve the plaques narrative. But we must assume our traditional enemies will continue to attempt derailing the return of the Reconciliation Memorial to Arlington National Cemetery.

Please call the White House and thank the President & secretary of War for restoring the old explanatory Plaque at 202-456-1111

THE EVIL PLAN TO STRANGLE SPEECH AND ERASE A PEOPLE’S PAST

Because Congress and the IRS leave this machine untouched, deductible dollars keep pouring into SPLC’s endowment. Even as its Intelligence Project and action guides counsel local governments how to crush memorials, rename schools, and treat Southern heritage as hate.

Tell Congress, with as many emails as possible: It must STOP shielding and subsidizing this SPLC hate campaign NOW! Lawmakers need to demand that the DOJ & IRS revoke SPLC's tax exempt status.

THE EVIL PLAN TO STRANGLE SPEECH AND ERASE A PEOPLE’S PAST

Imagine paying someone to attack you.You pay their bills. You help keep their doors open. Fix their roofs. Cover their electricity.But then they turn around and hand activists, school boards, city councils, and prosecutors a detailed action plan to bankrupt dissenters, silence your speech, tear down public memorials, and erase the history of the American South from courthouse lawns, school names, parks, and military posts.

That is what the Southern Poverty Law Center is up to. Its annual take is staggering: well over $100 million a year in tax-deductible contributions and investment income, with net assets reported in the hundreds of millions—sometimes approaching $800 million or more—while it operates as a 501(c)(3) charity subsidized by the tax code.

After the 2015 Charleston church massacre, SPLC launched Whose Heritage?—a national catalog, map, and playbook of Confederate monuments, school names, streets, parks, holidays, and other public symbols. Edition after edition has not merely “studied” those symbols. It has told communities how to permanently erase them from the public landscape and how to pressure the officials who control them.

Because Congress and the IRS leave this machine untouched, deductible dollars keep pouring into SPLC’s endowment. Even as its Intelligence Project and action guides counsel local governments how to crush memorials, rename schools, and treat Southern heritage as hate.

Tell Congress, with as many emails as possible: It must STOP shielding and subsidizing this hate campaign NOW! Lawmakers need to demand that the DOJ & IRS to revoke SPLC's tax exempt status.

WHAT’S IN THE PLAYBOOK?

"SPLC’s Whose Heritage?" reports and Community Action Guide are not a history lesson. They are an organizing manual. They list “practical” steps to take down monuments and rename public places, including:
Map every Confederate symbol in a community—statues, schools, streets, parks, courthouse memorials—and identify the exact government body that can remove it.

Contact mayors, city councils, school boards, county commissions, and legislators and demand removal or renaming.
Treat memorials as “symbols of hate” and “Lost Cause propaganda,” not as veterans’ monuments or contested public history.
Counter and dismiss objections that removal erases history, violates local majorities, or belongs to the people who live there.
Use public-safety and “harm” arguments to bypass or punch through state monument-protection laws.
Fund and coach local activist groups with grants so they can run media campaigns and pressure campaigns against holdout towns.

Keep a live national map so activists can find the next target and the next official to call.

This was not a leaflet handed out only to campus radicals. It was placed in the hands of officials with real power: school boards that can strip a name overnight, city councils that can crane a statue off a square, and state lawmakers who can be lobbied to repeal heritage-protection statutes. SPLC itself boasts hundreds of symbols removed, renamed, or relocated since 2015, and it still tracks more than 2,000 Confederate symbols standing, including hundreds of monuments.

These are people and institutions with investigators, lawyers, grant money, and media megaphones. In many places they can drag citizens, heritage groups, and small towns into expensive legal and political battles simply by opening a campaign, filing a complaint, or branding opponents as defenders of “white supremacy.”

And now that machinery is aimed at public memory itself—using a playbook written under roofs and paid for with tax-advantaged wealth that ordinary Americans help underwrite every April 15.This is why Congress must act. Tell Congress with as many faxes as possible to stop bankrolling—through tax exemption, deductibility, and official partnership—SPLC’s war on Southern history, veterans’ memorials, and the right of communities to keep their own past.This battle goes to the heart of why Liberty Counsel Action fights daily in Washington.
