Handsome Hunter is looking for a loving home to call his own! ❤️

Hunter was adopted as a kitten and has spent his entire life indoors. He is a docile, affectionate boy who loves attention and companionship.

We are unsure if he has been around other pets.

Due to changing family circumstances, Hunter needs a new home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by love.

This beautiful 8-year-old girl is looking for a foster or furever home through no fault of her own. Due to allergies in her household, her family is no longer able to keep her and she needs to be rehomed ASAP. She has a sassy personality and is very independent and sweet.

❤️ Layla is up-to-date on her vaccines and has no known health issues.

Has not lived with other cats but likes male dogs.

🚨 URGENT: LOST CAT IN ALBEMARLE, NC (EASTERN MOST PART OF THE CHARLOTTE METROPOLITAN AREA!) PLEASE HELP FIND BUSTER! 🚨

Sweet Buster (who is a Laps and Naps alumni) darted out the door last weekend and hasn’t been seen since. His family (Samantha) is heartbroken and desperately trying to bring him home. 💔

They’ve searched, distributed flyers, contacted the shelter, knocked on doors, set traps, and placed food, shelters, and familiar scents around their property. Despite all their efforts, Buster is still missing.

🐾 Buster’s Details:

* Gray tabby, approximately 14 lbs
* 10+ years old
* Neutered male with a tipped ear

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Because Buster has a tipped ear, someone might mistake him for a stray or community cat. He is a beloved, missing pet who needs help getting home!

🌈 RIP Meow 🌈

Today, our hearts are breaking as we say goodbye to sweet Meow, who passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her sanctuary foster mom, Barbara, at the age of 19. 💔🐾

Meow joined the Laps and Naps family on January 25, 2024, and found her sanctuary home with Barbara, where she was cherished every day. She had been slowly declining due to hyperthyroidism, which recently became impossible to control.

Meow was a special girl with a sweet and spicy personality and unruly fur that required regular professional grooming. ❤️ She slept beside Barbara every night, sharing a bond that made her so much more than a foster cat. She was family.

We are so grateful that Meow spent her final years surrounded by love, comfort, and the security she deserved. Our hearts go out to Barbara as she grieves the loss of her beloved girl. Please keep Barbara in your thoughts as she navigates this difficult goodbye. 💕

Run free, sweet Meow. May you rest peacefully among the stars, forever loved and never forgotten. 🌈🐾🖤🤍

Sweet 15-year-old Dixie has found his furever home with his very own foster mom, Maryann! 🖤🤍🏡

Dixie’s beloved person passed away, and his granddaughter lovingly took him into her home. Sadly, she soon discovered that her 18-month-old daughter was allergic to Dixie. 💔 And that’s how this handsome senior became part of the Laps and Naps family.

Now, Dixie gets to spend his golden years right where he belongs, surrounded by love, with his foster mom turned forever mom! 🥰

Wishing him many, many more years of cuddles, gentle pets, cozy naps in the sunshine, and all the love his sweet heart can hold. ☀️🐱🖤🤍🖤

🎉🐾 CONGRATULATIONS, FLUFFY! 🐾🎉

This gorgeous 12-year-old senior boy found himself in a high-kill shelter in early September. Thankfully, his story didn’t end there! 🧡

It takes a village to save a life, and we have so many wonderful people to thank for giving Fluffy his second chance. A huge thank you to Illona, Alley, and his new mom, Megan, for being part of his journey to a happy new beginning! 🧡

Because of you, this sweet boy is now adopted and has a loving home to call his own. What a wonderful happy ending for this handsome senior! 🏡🐈

🐾 Meet Gypsy! (SPECIAL NEEDS SENIOR)🐾

Sweet 13-year-old Gypsy is looking for a loving new home. 💕 At just 6.8 lbs, this beautiful tabby is a gentle, curious senior who loves Cat TV, cozy cat beds, and long naps.

Gypsy’s beloved guardian is moving into hospice care, so she is sadly in need of a second chance. Gypsy is DEAF, but she has adapted wonderfully and uses her other senses to navigate the world. She is afraid of the dark, so a small light should be left on for her at night.

Gypsy is healthy, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She comes with her medical records and has recently received preventative treatment for fleas, ticks, roundworms, and ear mites.

This sweet senior deserves a quiet, cozy home where she can feel safe and loved for the rest of her days. 🩷

🐾 Meet Xena! 🐾

Xena’s story is a little unusual! She was originally thought to be a 12-year-old male named Zeus, but when her new foster took her to the vet for testing and vaccinations, they discovered “he” was actually a “she”…. and Xena was born! 💕

Xena has been through several homes and was repeatedly left behind when her owners moved. She spent most of her life outdoors, but she is doing wonderfully as an indoor cat and is ready for a loving retirement home.

📍 Located in Lexington, NC (about 20 miles south of Winston-Salem)

Xena may be a little hissy when she first meets you, but she is food-motivated and warms up quickly! She loves wet food, is affectionate, and enjoys lying right against your legs. She’s using her litterbox, isn’t a door dasher, and seems to be a pretty laid-back girl who enjoys lounging. 😻

She has no known history with children or dogs. She seems passive around other cats, and her foster is continuing to learn more about how she does with feline friends. Loud noises aren’t her favorite, but honestly, who can blame her?

🩺 Xena is spayed and vaccinated. She tested positive for FIV and negative for FeLV.

We’re looking for a longer-term foster or loving retirement home where Xena can finally feel safe and settled.

Laps and Naps covers veterinary care, food, litter, and supplies while cats are in foster care.
