IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE

2020 WISCONSIN ARES/RACES CONFERENCE

A virtual online 2020 Wisconsin ARES/RACES Conference

October 24, 2020

We are now at the point where we need to finalize our plans for the 22nd annual conference, and we are eager to do so.

Unfortunately, this year we’ve added a new word to our vocabulary: COVID-19.

Locally and nationally things keep changing and not for the better as far as forward planning is concerned. Please be assured that we do not make this decision lightly, but our thoughts are centered on the continued well-being of you and your families! Our usual meeting place at the McMillan Public Library, in Wisconsin Rapids, has taken this opportunity of reduced occupancy to move forward with a significant remodel and renovation. As a result we do not have a centralized venue to host the conference this year.

We want to announce we have decided to take this as an opportunity to try something new!

We are now switching gears and planning a virtual online conference on the same day in October. So the conference is still a go, but you will be able to enjoy it from the comfort of your home. Yes, we know that this is going be a different experience for everyone involved (especially for us) and we hope to see you in person next year in the newly renovated McMillan Public Library, in Wisconsin Rapids.

Registration for the Wisconsin ARES/RACES Virtual On-Line Conference on October 24th is now live on the https:\\wi-aresraces.org website. The meeting link will be distributed via email the day before the event to those registered for the conference on the WI ARES Connect site so be certain you are registered.

You are all in our thoughts. So please take care of yourselves and each other. And thanks for everything you do for Wisconsin ARES/RACES.

Sincerely,

Your Wisconsin ARES/RACES Conference Committee:

Kathy Schramm, KB9UAZ: Conference Chairperson

Kyle Schaefer, KC9SDK: SEC

Josh Roskos, KC9WWH: IT Coordinator

Tom Burger, KA9KJE: Operations Coordinator

Amber Kraft, KD9KKY: Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator

Joshua Wecker, AJ9P : Sponsorship Coordinator

Will Hascall, KC9OKM: After Conference Review Coordinator

Mike Travis, KD9IBS: Webmaster
