In the near future, hoping to hold a dark sky star party event with “little notice” when it can be seen here on earth. The Star Party will be @ the badger springs trailhead. Be ready between now and September for immediate updates.

Eta Aquarid Meteor shower this weekend!

May's Eta Aquariid meteor shower has a broad peak and is often good over several mornings. And in 2024, it'll be with dark skies on the mornings of May 5 and 6.

On this annual celebration of “Giving Tuesday” help keep our monument clean by signing up for our next ADOT “adopt-a-highway” cleanup on December 9th starting at 9am.

Cleanups include both the North and South ramps of the Bloody Basin turn off and on in both directions and we will also clean up the parking lot at the top of the exit. We will meet at the parking lot at 9:00 AM on 12/9. We are usually finished by noon. Vests, gloves, collection bags and trash grabbers will be provided. A prize will be given for the most interesting find. Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots. It is actually pretty fun if you like picking up trash! Bring water and lunch as needed.
