South Community Church was founded on the inspiration that community is the lifeblood of human beings and it's a gift God has given us. Yeah we know it's not a new concept, just a concept we all have wired in our DNA. Jesus wanted community for us and we at South Church desire community for each and every one of you. That's every age group finding like minded and like hearted people to grow old with. South Community Church will be extremely intentional about finding community for each person that comes through our doors. But not only that, we believe that within this community we’re challenged to live a Spirit filled life. How do we know? 1 John 3:24 says, “Those who obey His commands live in Him, and He in them. And this is how we know that He lives in us: We know it by the Spirit He gave us.” That’s why we’re so excited! The Savior Jesus gave us His Spirit to live a life that’s joyful and exhilarating, not routinely average. We believe that when Jesus ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit is what He left us. And all too often we don't live with that power, that wisdom, that guidance, and that comfort! It's time for us as God's children to rest on that belief and live with that power.

Today, we honor and celebrate Pastor Mark, Megan, Brandon, and Joel! We are so grateful for the way you faithfully serve our church, lead with love, and pour into the lives of those around you. Your dedication to the Kingdom, your hearts for people, and your commitment to pointing others to Jesus do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for the prayers you pray, the sacrifices you make, and the countless ways you serve behind the scenes. We are blessed to have you as part of our church family!

“And we urge you, brothers and sisters… to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.” 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13

Today, we want to take a special moment to honor Pastor Mark and his family! We are so thankful for the heart they have for God, their love for our church, and their faithful commitment to serving others. Ministry is a family effort, and we are grateful for the sacrifices, prayers, and dedication they give both on and off the platform.

Pastor Mark, thank you for leading with faithfulness, pointing people to Jesus, and shepherding our church with a heart for the Kingdom. We are so blessed to have you and your family as part of our church family!

God Will Not Share His Glory

Acts 12:20–25 | Acts 13:1–12

God alone deserves our worship and the glory for everything He does. We can’t place our trust in our own goodness, achievements, or ability—our confidence must be in Christ.

Am I trusting Christ, or am I trusting myself?

Let’s live with humble hearts that point all glory back to God, because only He is worthy.
