Last week, NDHA met with Jeff Kahrs, Regional Director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Region 7, to talk about federal policies impacting North Dakota hospitals, including 340B, immigration, workforce challenges, and the Rural Health Transformation Program.

Jeff also spent time with Sanford Health leaders and toured their facility!

We’re always glad to have the opportunity to connect, share what’s happening on the ground, and keep North Dakota’s healthcare priorities part of the conversation.

Congratulations to all of the leaders recognized in Prairie Business Magazine’s Top Industry Executives feature!

This recognition celebrates executives who are making a meaningful impact through their leadership, dedication, and contributions to their organizations and communities.

We’re especially pleased to see Alan O’Neil among this year’s honorees. As a past member of the NDHA Board of Trustees, we’re grateful for the leadership, insight, and commitment he has brought to healthcare and the communities he serves throughout his career.

Recently, the NDHA and HSI teams, along with special guests, enjoyed an evening at a Bismarck Larks baseball game! ⚾ It was a great opportunity to connect outside the office, enjoy some summer fun, and spend time with colleagues. To top it all off, the Larks delivered an impressive 12–0 victory!

National Hospital Week is here, May 10–16, 2026, and we’re proud to celebrate the impact of the hospitals across our state! 🎉

Our caregivers have faced unimaginable challenges and risen to the occasion repeatedly, showing resilience and compassion in every moment of care. From rural communities to larger health systems, ND hospitals are where healing happens, and communities grow stronger every day. We think it is essential that others see the impact hospitals have made on communities, and this week is a chance to recognize and celebrate that work.

Thank you to every hospital team member across North Dakota!

NDHA leadership was in Washington, D.C. this week, attending the American Hospital Association Annual Meeting. While there, they had the opportunity to meet with Representative Fedorchak and Senators Hoeven and Cramer, to discuss critical financial, workforce, and regulatory issues facing the health care field, such as protecting 340B, simplifying price transparency, and the rural health transformation program, and what its rollout means for communities across our state.

Thank you to Sanford Health, Essentia Health, Unity Medical Center, and Primacy Strategy Group for standing alongside NDHA in these efforts. Together, we are making sure North Dakota's priorities are part of the national conversation.
