Reaching endowment status is a meaningful milestone for our family. My mother believed deeply in education - not simply as a credential, but as a responsibility. She believed that when young people are given opportunity, they rise to it. She believed in discipline, service, and in using one's gifts to strengthen community.
It brings me great peace to know this scholarship will now stand permanently in her name - supporting students long after those of us who loved her most are gone. That kind of legacy would have mattered to her.
