Hope Manor
A Sober Living Homes

At Hope Manor Sober Living Homes our mission is to provide an environment where people can apply the tools of recovery in a safe and stable environment in an effort for the individual to realize true freedom in sobriety. Our message speaks to the power of recovery to change lives, that suffering can be eliminated and that life can be full of purpose and meaning. T

he foundation of our new life in recovery is rigorous honesty, service to others and personal responsibility. At Hope Manor we freely share the tools and methods of our common success 1) physical sobriety, 2) emotional sobriety and 3) spiritual sobriety; living life sober one day at a time. Finances and living conditions are often in disarray. Credit may have been completely destroyed and resources for safe sober places to stay may have all but vanished in the wake of their disease. Research shows that the #1 factor for success in early recovery is environment. So at Hope Manor we have taken great care to see that the time spent in sober living is done in a setting that is conducive to reflection followed by action. Our homes are designed to create a sense of comfort and security that allows our residents to let go of the physical concerns and focus on the personal journey that lies ahead. We address each of these concerns by offering the newly sober person a warm and embracing, fully furnished place to live, at an affordable price. We are within 4 miles of more than sixty 12 Step meetings per week and the structure of our program is designed to teach the newly sober person how to get active in the recovery community. The most critical component to this plan for recovery is willingness and time. Addiction cannot be treated in 7 or 21 days. Most newly sober alcoholics and drug addicts need an environment strongly committed to supporting their new found sobriety. We do it one day at a time around here, and we do it together. At Hope Manor, our residents learn that long term recovery is about finding new tools and practicing them in daily life. It would be easy to promote the idea that this is a simple process, but it wouldn’t be honest. The path we share with the people who live in Hope Manor is based on the 12 Steps, successfully used in recovery programs like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous for the better part of a century. Research shows that the 12 Step approach for alcoholism and addiction has been proven to be the most successful in producing long term results. Hundreds of thousands of once hopeless men and women around the world have stayed sober and gone on to embrace life with power, responsibility, dignity and courage. Daily attendance at 12-Step groups is a way of life at Hope Manor and we also utilize spiritual teachers, workshops, retreats and seminars to assist our residents. "We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, and to bring home any who have lost their way."

🌟Seven Years- Chelsea🌟

Seven years ago, Chelsea walked through our doors straight from treatment. She came in ready to do the work, and that’s exactly what she did.

While she was with us, Chelsea poured herself into recovery and into rebuilding what mattered most: her relationship with her mother, her bond with her children, and a way of living grounded in integrity and spiritual principles. Watching that unfold in real time? There are no words.

And then we got to watch her keep going.

Today, Chelsea is married to a wonderful man. She guides women like herself through another sober living program in Bismarck. She serves on multiple recovery committees that host conferences that bring hope to communities, including the one where she grew up. She does it all while staying deeply rooted in her recovery and deeply connected to Hope Manor.

We have had the profound privilege of walking with Chelsea through all of it: her early days in the house, the tender work of easing her kids back into life together, navigating what came next, building a career around giving back, and watching her children grow up. All of it. Every single chapter.

Chelsea, you are what this place is all about. You are proof that recovery is not just possible, but the ripple effect created when one person embarks upon a journey of change. It is beautiful. We are so grateful you stayed and continue to stay and allow us to be a part of your story.

Seven years is amazing! And the best is yet to come! 🤍

💙Freedom Worth Fighting For ♥️

Today, we honor those who gave everything for our freedom. At Hope Manor, we also know that freedom from alcoholism and addiction, from shame, from isolation, is something worth fighting for every single day. We’re grateful for the brave men and women who served, and for every person in our community who chooses to fight for their own freedom, one day at a time. 🇺🇸

🎓 THIS is what recovery makes possible 🎓

Our house leader, Clifton, showed up last night to watch his daughter walk across the stage at her high school graduation, and if that doesn’t say everything, we don’t know what does.

Recovery gave Clifton a foundation to build his life upon. It gave him the ability to be present, to be consistent, and to be standing right there when it mattered most. Not from the sidelines. Not from a distance. Right in the middle.

That’s what this work is really about. It’s not just about putting down a substance (although that’s essential). It’s about picking up a life. It’s about becoming the kind of person who gets to walk alongside the people we love through their biggest moments. The milestones. The celebrations. The ordinary Tuesday nights. All of it.

We are so happy for you, Clifton! Watching you as a leader in the house and as a dad who shows up today fills our hearts with joy! And to your daughter: congratulations. Your dad was cheering the loudest. We guarantee it as he has been bubbling over with pride over your accomplishment and excitement to be there for you on your big day! 💛

🎉 TWO YEARS, MERCEDES! 🎉

We love getting messages like this: “Thank you, Hope Manor, for helping me build a life I love today.”

Today, on her 2-year sober birthday, Mercedes reflects on gratitude, but she was anything but grateful when she first came to us. She had completed a treatment program and thought that would be enough. But upon the encouragement of a counselor there, she applied to Hope Manor.

She figured she’d stay for six months, max. She ended up staying 11. During that time, she was held accountable for her recovery, and she grew. She repaired relationships with her family and began to feel comfortable just being herself.

Mercedes, we are so grateful that you were willing to surrender enough to take direction and apply. Now the rest is history. Keep going and keep growing. We are cheering you on every step of the way.

🎉 FOUR YEARS CLEAN-Congratulations, Jenna! 🎉

At Hope Manor, we have the privilege of witnessing lives change every day, and today we celebrate one of those extraordinary transformations.

Four years ago, Jenna came to us at what she believed was the lowest point of her life. Today, her experience is powerful proof that recovery is possible. Her journey reflects what we have seen time and time again: safe, supportive, and structured sober living when combined with active participation in a recovery program truly works.

It shows us that the decision to stay can change everything. That healing happens one day at a time. And when people continue applying the tools they’ve learned and remain active in their recovery after leaving sober living, long-term sobriety becomes possible.

In Jenna’s own words:

“My name is Jenna, and I’m an addict. I have a clean date of May 18th, 2022. Today I celebrate 4 years clean of all mind-altering substances. Today, I am filled with so much gratitude for the life I get to live.
Four years ago on this day, I was turned over to the Federal Government on an indictment for my involvement in criminal activity due to my addiction. I thought this day was the end of my life. Little did I know my life was just beginning.

I was pre-trial released to Hope Manor Sober Living. Hope Manor was exactly where I needed to be. I lived at Hope Manor for 18 months. The best decision I made in my time in the house was to ‘stay.’ In my 18 months there, I got my morals back, learned how to hold myself accountable, be honest, and love others as well as myself.

Today I am a server and part-time manager at Denny’s — a job I’ve had since I got to Hope Manor. I finally took action to continue my education and will graduate in May 2027 with a degree in Addiction Studies. Last week, I got the best email ever from my PO: ‘2.5 years EARLY TERMINATION of my supervised Federal Probation.’ Yes, I cried — but happy tears.

I still work my program of recovery to the best of my ability every day. I remain of service, I help other addicts, and remain open-minded. Without my recovery, my Higher Power, God, my mentors, my mentees, and all of you, I wouldn’t be living the life I get to today. I would be in prison or dead.
Hope Manor didn’t just help save my life — Hope Manor taught me how to live.

Today, my life is beautiful. I’m an addict who was stuck in active addiction for over 23 years. I’ve never been to treatment. I am living proof the Steps work! If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, reach out! There is hope! WE DO RECOVER! ❤️”

Jenna's story makes all the hard days we encounter in our work seem trivial. Her experience reminds us that there is always hope, that the willingness to stay and do the work changes lives, and that recovery happens in community. Four years clean, early termination of federal probation, a career she’s proud of, and a degree on the way! Amazing! Jenna, your Hope Manor family is cheering you on today and every day. We love you! 🤍

If you or someone you love is struggling, please reach out. Hope Manor is here.

🌟CELEBRATING 3 YEARS CLEAN & SOBER🌟

Today, we celebrate Jessica, who is 3 WHOLE YEARS clean and sober!

Jessica’s story is one of unimaginable strength and transformation. From using drugs and alcohol at a young age, to years lost in addiction, prisons, and heartbreak. She lost her mother and everything dear to her while incarcerated. Jessica walked through some of the darkest valleys a person can face.

But deep inside, she knew she was more than her circumstances, and she knew she could find purpose and peace if she could stay clean and sober.

After decades of chaos and feeling completely alone, Jessica made the brave choice to reach out for help. She worked for the better part of nine months to secure a bed, keeping in contact the best she could until she finally found her way to Hope Manor, which turned out to be her way home. Here, she dove into a program of recovery that didn’t just ease the pain of her past; she began to heal not just from addiction, but from disappointment, loss, and heartache. She found a safe, supportive sisterhood and, most importantly, began to find herself.

For over 18 months, Jess has stepped into the role of assistant house leader, volunteering her time to welcome new women at Hope Manor, teach them the ropes, and hold them accountable in their recovery. This is not a paid position and definitely not for the faint of heart, but Jess is a natural who truly leads by example. Through this transition from resident to leader, Jess found her calling, finding herself by losing herself in service to others.

Now, three years in, Jessica is not just surviving. She’s growing, leading, and becoming the woman she was always meant to be. Her resilience in the face of overwhelming challenges shows the incredible strength of the human spirit. It reminds us that no matter how dark things may seem, recovery is always possible.

Jessica, we are so happy and grateful for you. We are honored to walk alongside you on this journey. Your story gives hope to others who feel lost and reminds us that even from the ashes, something beautiful can be rebuilt. Thank you for bringing your very own sparkle, light heart, shenanigans, and all the colors of the rainbow into a world that can be so black-and-white. The best is yet to come. Always!

Three years sober today for both of these alums. 🤍

Bre and Garrett met while Bre was still living in the Hope Manor women’s house. But Bre made a decision that says everything about who she is: she chose to take her steps first. She focused on herself and her recovery before even thinking about a relationship.

That’s the kind of foundation that changes everything.

Bre was pouring her time into being a house leader, showing up for the women in our program, and touching countless lives along the way. Garrett, an 801 alum, was a full-time college student who was also building a recovery initiative that connects newcomers to various recovery fellowships. Neither of them had room for anything that would take them off course, so they didn’t let it.

They put their recoveries first and slowly built a foundation for a relationship, then a life, and now a family. Their lives continue to revolve around recovery and the principles they learned at Hope Manor: service, integrity, and consistent, persistent effort in all they do. Those principles aren’t something they practiced for a season. They’re woven into every facet of how they live.

Today, Bre and Garrett have their own home. They’ve repaired relationships with family they feared were lost forever. They continue to show up for their individual recoveries and for Hope Manor. Last year, they welcomed a beautiful baby girl. And last Friday, Garrett walked across the stage with his bachelor’s degree.

This is what happens when you do the work and, most importantly, remain committed to it. Relief is when things start to get better. Recovery is when a whole life you never thought was possible starts to take shape.

Bre and Garrett didn’t settle for the external gifts that came or the problems that ceased when they stopped drinking and using. Too often, when we settle for external changes without undergoing internal transformation, we end up chasing the next thing and losing sight of where we came from and what it takes to stay sober and happy about it. Bre and Garrett stayed the course and gained peace and purpose.

We are so incredibly happy for you both. Happy 3 years, Bre and Garrett.

Today, our Hope Manor crew headed over to AID Inc. in Mandan to lend a hand with the Stamp Out Hunger postal workers' food drive! 📬🥫

Our residents jumped right in, unloading food donations and sorting them so the amazing staff at AID Inc. can focus on getting it all out to the families and individuals who need it most.

This is what recovery in action looks like, showing up and giving back. Being part of something bigger than yourself. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do: recovery isn’t just about what we receive; it’s about what we give.

So proud of this crew. 💜

AID Inc. still needs volunteers over the next few weeks. If you’d like to help out, give Sandi a call at 701-226-2324 to set up a time!
