Are you new to the area, experiencing a new life situation (empty nester, divorced, widowed, single, married), a new job, job relocation or just need a night out? General Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month from September through May. The Board disseminates information to the members regarding upcoming events/activities, conducts voting on points of club business, and solicits inp
ut from members. Following the General meeting there is usually an additional activity. Sometimes a speaker is invited to give insight on subjects that are of interest to the members, sometimes the activity is to promote community involvement, and sometimes it is just for fun! Members volunteer to bring refreshments (bars, cookies, fruit, etc.) to the meetings; coffee and supplies are furnished by the club. Members are asked to help with kitchen clean up and putting the meeting room back in order following the meetings. Several of the monthly meetings are followed by activities to socialize, make friends, and have fun. A Newsletter is issued monthly from Sept-May and in July. The newsletter provides information about upcoming club business and activities. The club offers a variety of Special Interest Groups where the focus is on friendship in a fun and relaxing manner. The groups include:
Bridge

New Special Interest Groups can be created by any member with the Board Approval. Members sign up for the Special Interest Groups at the September meeting. This sign-up is intended to give the group leader a list of those interested. Some groups require a specified number of 'regular' players with a 'sub' list. Some activities require an 'rsvp' before the event. The September meeting is not the only opportunity to get involved with a group; a member may contact the group leader anytime about participating. There are groups that are 'come when you can', without advance sign-up; members can participate as it fits their schedule! Some of the groups meet from September through May; others meet year round. In some groups, the participants rotate hosting the events. Details for the group activities are reported in the Newsletter each month.
