We have two new residents at SSMR today! 🐰 Three little baby bunnies have made a home in our tomato garden! We hope they find all the rest and healing they need while they stay with us.

Once again our giving community steps up to support our residents! Thank you Megan for your generosity in giving us this keyboard piano. As you can see, it got a lot of use this weekend and made our resident Tanner very happy!

Today is a bittersweet day at SSMR. We are saying goodbye to our amazing volunteer Emily. We have been blessed with her presence 2 times a week as she finished up OT school. We are so excited for her as she moves away to start her career as an Occupational Therapist. We celebrated with a great lunch made by our residents. Jorgen grilled up some amazing burgers and Mike made us some cake with whip cream and strawberries. Thank you, Emily, for being part of our family.

Stepping Stone Medical Respite is in need of some basic supplies to keep our ministry going. Our biggest needs are toilet paper, hand soap, tissues, and blood cleanup kits but we also need paper cups, paper towels, and tide pods. Our outdoor project is complete!
After a spring filled with building, planting, and growing, our garage and outdoor space is finally complete!
This project has created a much-needed space for peace, connection, and recovery. Since its completion our residents have already been enjoying the space, and this weekend we celebrated the project’s completion with a dinner shared among residents, staff, and friends of our mission.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this vision a reality. As we look ahead to the rest of the summer, we’re excited to continue making memories and enjoying this beautiful new space together.

Volunteer drivers are needed in our community!
Thank you KFYR-TV for highlighting our need for volunteer drivers to help transport our residents to and from their medical appointments.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver here are the things you should know!

1. You drive our company vehicles.
2. This is an as available position. Every week we send a list of appointments to our approved drivers, and you pick up the "shifts" as you are available.
3. You do not go into the appointments with the resident.
4. This is the type of small thing that CHANGES LIVES! Getting people to follow-up medical appointments after hospital stays can be the deciding factor between healing or getting sicker. Our volunteers are heroes!

Thank you, Global Sisters Report, for highlighting our wonderful CEO/ founder Sr. Idelle Badt and her vision in starting our organization. This is a beautiful story of the Benedictines serving the needs of our Bismarck community.

Sr. Idelle Badt noticed that when people who are homeless are discharged from hospitals, "they're going to end up right back in the hospital or sicker than they were because they're still too ill to recover on the street."

Wow! We are so grateful for these generous donations from Legacy United Methodist Church. Thank you for helping us serve those experiencing homelessness and for helping build up our community. 😊

Thanks to your extravagant generosity, we raised $1,225 for our May Impact Offering! It will be given to Stepping Stone Medical Respite, who will use it in their mission to provide a safe and healing environment for individuals experiencing homelessness who need to recover from illness or injury.

As always, we are grateful to all who help us be a Community of Impact. 🫶

Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of exciting progress happening behind our building! One project we’re especially proud of is our newly refreshed grassy area.
Thanks to our incredible team of volunteers, the sod is officially laid and looking amazing!
