Great job, Liberty Elementary! We love hearing how much students enjoy the Glow and Go program and seeing those vests in action!

Elementary students love riding their bikes to school. Click the link to find out how one Bismarck school is keeping students who do this safer: https://www.kfyrtv.com/2026/10/21/neon-safety-vests-donated-bps-schools-protect-students/

We love that kids WANT to wear the vest! Thank you to our Glow & Go Program partners Jeff White - Capital Real Estate Partners, Bravera, and The Title Team, for making this possible!

Did your school run out of vests? Reach out to us for more!

The sun is rising later and later as we get closer to winter. That means it's even more important that drivers are aware of students biking and walking to school in the morning. That's where the Glow and Go program comes in.

🍎 Behind the scenes at BPS!

BPS serves an average of 9,300 lunches and 3,000 breakfasts every day across 27 campuses.

A centralized kitchen could help BPS:
- 🥕 Expand scratch cooking and increase the use of North Dakota beef and local produce.
- 🥬 Provide fresh lettuce and vegetables year-round.
- 👩‍🍳 Better support nutrition staff and school kitchen teams.
- ♻️ Improve purchasing efficiency, reduce food waste and create long-term operational savings that could be reinvested in food quality and student needs.

Our goal is to prepare more nutritious meals, support our staff and help every learner thrive.

🌾 Supporting local businesses, one school meal at a time!

From North Dakota farms and ranches to BPS lunch trays, local food plays a role in feeding our students.

In the 2025-2026 school year, BPS Child Nutrition processed more than 20,000 pounds of local ground beef and 7,000 pounds of local produce.

There’s an opportunity to build on that progress. With more space to prepare ingredients, BPS could make greater use of locally raised beef and locally grown fruits and vegetables, bringing more of North Dakota’s agricultural resources into school meals.

When we create more opportunities to use local foods, we can support regional producers while serving the students who make up our community.
