Consumers want to buy and use ethanol fuel that’s significantly cheaper, burns 40 percent cleaner, and supports main street rural America. The current tough financial reality of U.S. corn growers producing a crop at a loss, many on year two or three, would be helped by Congress immediately passing legislation to remove the federal government’s anti-market barrier that restricts consumers from buying E15 fuel in the summer. Such allowance would boost production at ethanol plants, increasing demand and market prices for corn growers. Contact your members of Congress today https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member and ask that they vote to allow year-round E15 fuel sales now! NDEPA and the North Dakota Corn Growers Association have submitted a joint letter to the Bismarck Tribune in response to a recent article opposing carbon capture tax credits.

We believe 45Q is vital to North Dakota’s future. Supporting ethanol producers, driving innovation, and helping our state stay competitive in a low-carbon economy.

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the recent column by Sens. Jeff Magrum, R-Hazelton, and Tim Mathern, D-Fargo, regarding carbon capture and storage (CCS) and the 45Q tax credit.
