Women Veterans are the fastest-growing Veteran group, and some receive their health care in community settings, where nurses may not know they're treating someone who served.

The VA now offers a free 1-hour course, worth 1 CE credit with ANCC accreditation, on caring for women Veterans in community settings. It covers military health histories, Veteran-specific health issues, and trauma-informed approaches to sensitive exams.
