For the last 10 years, the seasonal porta-potties have been the only option for human waste. Since this is a watershed, burying your waste is not an acceptable practice. In partnership with the Access Fund, we have supplied these seasonal toilets from May-Oct.

We’ve also seen an uptick in recreation in pine creek. The seasonal port-potties just ain’t cutting it. We need a long term solution for human waste.

After 9 years of advocacy, we received approval from the Forest Service last year! However, with the massive budget cuts across the country, we have been unable to receive any grant funds to date.

So, we came up with the idea of selling Pine Creek Shirts to help kick off awareness and fundraising to reach our $100,000 goal! All proceeds from these shirts will go directly to the Pine Creek toilet fund.

Why this matters
-This is the only local watershed without a permanent toilet.
-Supports year-round climbing, hiking, and all other recreation.
-Keeps the canyon clean by diverting human waste.

🎨 Meet the Artist: Andy Puhvel 🎨

Andy “the big hippie” Puhvel is a climber and artist who has been a part of the Eastern Sierra climbing community for over 40 years. His climbing life has included running the rad Yo! Basecamp kid’s climbing camp with his wife Lisa Coleman and putting up routes that have become modern testpieces.

He’s been a part of the first ascent team of modern classics such as Keel Haul, King of the Jungle, Green Thunder, and Shield of Dreams (just to name a few!) that continue to challenge and inspire climbers today.

Andy’s art reflects the same energy he brings to climbing: bold, colorful, and full of life. We’re incredibly grateful that he brought his vision to this project.

🚨 Pine Creek Shirt Drop Coming Soon!🚨
We’re launching a limited edition Pine Creek shirt to help fund a permanent toilet for Pine Creek Canyon. Look good at the crag, post climb brews, or just running around town.

How it works:
📅 Shirts orders available May 11 – May 25 ONLY
• $40 local pickup on June 19th @
• $50 shipped. Shirts will ship out by 6/20

Every shirt helps move the Pine Creek toilet closer to reality.

Background: After 9 years of advocacy, the BACC, alongside the , has received permission from the USFS to install a permanent vault toilet at Scheelite Canyon in Pine Creek. This is the only local watershed that doesn’t have a permanent toilet. Currently we have raised $8,000 of the $100,000 goal. Please help us fund this project by buying a shirt, making a tax-deductible donation, or spreading the word.

Once the sale window closes, we will only be printing the amount of shirts sold.
