MOMSS Moms of Military Servicemen & Servicewomen This is an organization dedicated to support Military persons serving from the Owens Valley. We send overseas every Month and stateside twice a year.

MOMS stands for Moms of Military Servicemen: This club was start in the World War II era in Bishop and has been going strong again since 9/11. We are excited to send care packs to the local men and women who serve our country so proudly. Servicemen and women love receiving local goodies and information such as newspapers about the happenings in the area. We would love to have input from the commun

ity on ideas of what to pack and we will gladly accept donations of items to pack, packing supplies, etc. Board Meetings will be held after each pack, and all are welcome to attend. Some suggestions of individually packed items are:

Crystal Light packets, Packets of Tuna, wrapped candy, small beef jerky packages, chewing gum, nuts, dried fruit or fruit leathers, Trail mix bars, sunflower seeds, or any other snack items, and of course homemade cookies on the day of the packs! Various fundraiser are performed throughout the year, this information will be posted as it becomes available. Thanks for the continued support we get from the wonderful community we live in.

Soldier pack is coming up quickly! Please make sure to have your items dropped to City Hall by 4pm Friday November 14th or bring it between 8 and 10am Saturday the 15th if they are fresh baked items. All should be individually packaged. We thank our Community for joining us in helping send items from home to our soldiers.

MOMSS Club is preparing for our 4th of July Pack
Donated items need to be to City Hall by Friday, June 6th at 1pm, we are packing for 37 amazing Men and Women.

Items can be individual nuts and snacks, travel size toiletries, fun things that remind them of home!

Help us make their package special!

After roughly 12 years of volunteering my time to the MOMSS organization, of which almost 10 was on the board, I will be passing my position as President on to someone new at tonight’s board meeting.

It has been an absolutely pleasure and honor to have served our local men and women in service to this great country of ours! My time within the organization was the least I could do for our men and women in uniform!

To the recipients of our packages:
Thank you so much for all the fun stories, your gratitude for all we do, the relationships built, the laughter and sometimes tears, and for all that you sacrifice so that our nation can experience the freedoms of your service. I know that when overseas, you have shared your package goodies with the folks who may not have people sending things and that makes this MOMSS heart happy! I will be forever grateful for our past, present and future heroes such as yourselves! THANK YOU ENDLESSLY! Be well and live well! I love each and every one of you! 🇺🇸Thank you for your service🇺🇸

To our amazing community:
YOU are what makes MOMSS possible! From businesses and clubs donating time, fundraising baskets and/or financial support year after year…. To ALL the people in our community who have helped over the years with our fundraisers or monetary donations….. YOU are another hero of ours! We operate off of donation only so without you we wouldn’t be able to do what we have done for so many many years! MVP status!!!

To the teachers, students and staff in Mammoth and Bishop schools:
Thank you for all of the letters, cards and drawings to our men and women serving our country! Those were truly the BEST part of our big packs twice a year! They helped remind our recipients of why they joined the service and gave smiles about home. They adorned the walls of barracks as a daily reminder who they serve back home! The pack item drives at Mammoth Elementary were stellar and sooooo helpful for our closet of supplies!!!

To the youth groups:
From multiple area 4H groups to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts… your willingness to make goodies for our large packs and willingness to donate your time to help pack the boxes has been much appreciated over the years! Thank you!

To VFW Post 8988 and VFW Post 8988 Auxiliary:
Thank you for always partnering with us to welcome home our heroes when able! Thank you for always allowing us to have our fundraisers there onsite! Together we worked some amazing reunions! Forever grateful!

To all Law Enforcement, Fire Dept, etc:
Thank you for supporting and escorting our heroes home from service and deployments! Always such a beautiful sight and one that will forever give me proud tears!

To MOMSS Board Members Past and Present:
Thank you for donating your time to make our organization work the way it does! It’s been an honor to work beside you all over the years! I appreciate every one of you and value your time! Thank you for raising amazing human beings willing to be one of the 1% who volunteer to serve our country! We are a rare breed! I love you all and appreciate you all and will miss you all….. you got this from here on out! It’s been a pleasure!

Good morning! We know this is super short notice but we were just made aware that there is a young lady who has finished her US Army contract and is flying “home” today at 12:00pm!
