NOTICE ⚠️

Bacteria levels presently exceed criteria standards for Escherichia coli (E.coli) under the Bishop Paiute Tribe’s Water Quality Standards (126 MPN) for recreational use of this site on the South Fork Bishop Creek.

Because of the increased risk of contracting an illness, the Environmental Management Office (EMO) of the Bishop Paiute Tribe encourages to take caution while swimming (e.g. ingesting water) from the stream until further notice. This is a temporary condition. Thank you for your cooperation.

Bacterial levels are analyzed weekly during the swimming season. Please contact the Water Quality Coordinator,
Brianda Hernandez, at 760-873-3584 ext. 2120

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last Sunday at the Bishop Paiute Tribe’s Earth Day & Spring Market! It was incredible to see our community come together to celebrate and care for our land.

We collected over 235 lbs. of trash during the Rez clean-up! Thank you to the 40+ volunteers who showed up to beautify the reservation. We appreciate you! 💪🏾🌿

Gratitude to:

Our info tables, local food/craft vendors, and everyone who participated—your energy made the day special!

The Cultural Center () for their partnership.

The Maintenance Department for their help with setup.

Tribal Police for keeping the event safe and smooth.

KBPT Radio for keeping the vibes high with great music! 🎶

And all EMO staff for their dedication to the work we do. ✨

Earth Day may be once a year, but caring for our planet is a daily commitment. Let’s keep this spirit alive—because every day is Earth Day! 🌎💚

❄️ Winter wonderland in the ! ❄️

Former Environmental Director, Brian, decided to take the fun way to work today through the COSA and captured these amazing photos of our little wetland! ⛷️

If you plan to visit the COSA, make sure you are prepared for the snowy conditions and stay on the main trail. The COSA is filled with endemic plant species and ditch systems that are currently covered by snow, so be careful and stay safe when you're out exploring.

Tag us or send us photos of your COSA adevntures!

POSTPONED!

Hello friends!

What a lovely day on the Bishop Paiute Reservation! Hope you're enjoying this snowy day as much as we are!

Unfortunately, due to safety concerns related to snowy parking areas and frozen ground conditions, we’ve decided to postpone tonight’s EMO Open House. Given that the event was scheduled for the evening, we want to prioritize everyone’s safety and avoid any risks associated with the weather.

We’re currently working to reschedule the event and will share the new date and details as soon as they’re confirmed. Thank you for your understanding, and stay safe! ❄️❄️❄️
