After almost a year and a half of attempting our youth overnight trip, we finally were able to get it done.

4 youth members of our BCHC Eastern Sierra Unit qualified to go on an overnight trip out of Sierra Meadows Ranch. They were accompanied by our President, Educations chair, and two parents as well as by another member of the unit.

The kids learned to pack up a camp, lead a mule, set up and high-line and care for stock in camp overnight, and have a little fun in the process.

We can’t thank the people who made this trip possible enough. Thank you to the members who donated stock, took the time to make this happen and to the people who donated money to support our cause. What an experience it was for our first annual Youth Pack trip.

This Sunday our local vets will be joining us to talk about vet care. We wanted to throw it out to you guys as to what you may want to learn about. Previous topics have been backcountry care and proper wrapping for leg injuries. Suggestions have been ‘at what point do your turn around’ and ‘backcountry vet kits’.

We will once again be live streaming this, but would love to know what topic people would be interested to learn about. Please share your ideas in the comments section!
