Arizona Firefighter Athletics is a 501(c)3 charity and team of firefighters from around Arizona that work for fire departments throughout the state and compete together in the US and World Police & Fire Games and raise money for local charities including the Arizona Burn Foundation and 100 Club of Arizona. Engineer at Surprise Fire carrying on the tradition from her days as throwers at

Arizona State University. Jen won gold at 2013 WPFG in Belfast, Northern Ireland in hammer and won gold in shotput at the 2015 WPFG in Fairfax. She defended her title and set a world record in 2013 in NYC (18-29) and again in 2015 in Fairfax (30-34). She is also a 8x gold medalist at the USPFCs where she holds the US women's open and 30-34 age group records for hammer and 30-34 US record for discus. In 2015, she also won gold in her age group for javelin and shotput at the USPFC. Erik Shisslak
A gridiron and track all-star at Adams State, won WPFG gold in discus (30-34) in Fairfax 2015. He also competes as part of a co-ed duo with his sister, Sara, in an event called the Toughest Competitor Alive. The TCA includes eight events all done within one day (5k race, shot-put, 100m dash, 100m swim, 20' rope climb, bench press, strict pull-ups, & an obstacle course)! The duo won gold at the US games in 2014 and bronze at the 2015 World Games...the highest finish for a US team in over 12 years! Angela Herzner
Firefighter at Phoenix Fire Department but originally comes from back East. She graduated from University of Rhode Island where she holds the school record in the pentathlon and heptathlon. She was the Atlantic 10 Champion and 2004 Olympic Trials Qualifier in shot-put. In her first year competing in the WPFG, Angela brought home four gold medals and three new age group world records! She competes in shotput, discus, high jump, and long jump. Doug Richards
Born in Boston. Grew up in Ohio. Went to Ohio State. Joined the military (Ohio Army National Guard). Started shooting for the state team. Won a couple matches. Moved to Arizona. Got married and had a son (now 11). Got hired with Surprise FD. Started shooting again and decided to compete in Police and Fire Games. Shot in his first World Games in New York in 2011 and hasn't missed one since. He shoots in several major civilian matches, the Nevada and Arizona Games, United States Police and Fire Championships, and World Games. Oh, and he likes Italian food. Morgan Dresser 👩🏻‍🚒
She's a D2 college soccer in NC, Ironman triathlete, regional athlete for Age Group Nationals for Triathlons. World traveler, loves her new puppy, clean eating and her wife. She's competing in her first World Police and Fire Games in the Stairclimb and Mud run! Wildland firefighter for 3 years, on with Phoenix Fire for 1.5 years! Al Quintana II
Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. He comes from a family with a long history in the Phoenix Fire Department, including his dad (Al Quintana Sr.), cousin (Rick Quintana), and sister (Monica Quintana-Hough). Al has been a Phoenix Firefighter for eight years and before that served as a Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps. for nine years. He boxes in the heavyweight division and won gold in his first WPFG in Fairfax 2015. Al has a Battle of the Badges record of 4-0 and a gold medal at the Arizona Police and Fire Games. Gabe Orosco
Phoenix Fire Department, was born and raised in Sierra Vista, AZ. He played baseball most of his life and began competing in the US Police & Fire Championships in 2011. He won gold in the individual TCA and push-pull. He also won bronze in the team TCA and triathlon. When not on shift, Gabe runs a gym (Great Ape) and teaches firefighter fitness at the local junior colleges. Adrian Hernandez
Gila River Fire Department, was born and raised in Arizona. He’s been with GRFD for 8 years as a Firefighter/ Hazmat Tech. He has been coaching Crossfit since 2008, and competing since 2009. After working at one of Phoenix’s first Crossfit gyms for 6 years (3 years as Head Coach), he found a home at Sol Crossfit. Aside from coaching at Sol CrossFit, he also is a Strength and Conditioning Coach for some of Phoenix’s Professional Boxers, as well as working as their Cutman. The job he is most proud of is being a father to his son. Adrian has placed 2nd in the Arizona Police and Fire Games in 2012 (30-34) and 2013 (35-39). In 2015 he tied for 3rd (35-39) at the World Police & Fire Games in Fairfax, VA. Nathan Warner
Born and raised in north Phoenix. Played baseball growing up. Switched to football in high school all four years. Ran track senior year. 2a central all league team football 2008. 2a track and field all around team state champion. 2a 4x100m state champ 2008. 2a 4x400m state champ 2008. Works at Station 7 C shift for PFD. Likes hiking, mountain biking, wakeboarding fishing and hunting and working out

Ramon Gonzalez
Born in Sonora, Mexico and moved to Phoenix at a young age. Growing up with 3 siblings Ramon has been competitive and active his whole life. Started playing soccer at a young age and continued to played club soccer where he was the captain of his soccer team. In high school he played Football, Basketball, Tennis, and Soccer. Ramon was also the captain of the men's soccer team when he played at Trevor G. Browne High School. He played collegiate soccer at Mesa Community College and then at Kansas Wesleyan University where they were conference and region champs. Ramon works for Phoenix Fire Department at Station 3. He likes to play raquetball, read books, hike, and watch movies

Vinnie Spano
Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. Played football basketball and baseball all growing up and thru high school. Went on to play football in college at Northern Arizona University. 4 year letterman and starter in varsity baseball, 3 year letterman starting QB, all state senior year, college scholarship offers. Works at station 9 at Phoenix Fire Department. Hobbies- working out, hiking, fishing, anything outdoors. Sierra Aulik
Sierra Aulik. She’s a FF with Mesa Fire and Medical Department 3 years. Played 2 years collegiate basketball at Mesa Community College. Avid slow pitch softball player. Enjoys trying any new sport.
