Congradulations David Palmer He looked dapper and relaxed as I walked into the Alabama Sports Hall Of Fame today.
The greatest high school football player I've ever seen was all smiles the day before he will be honored.

David Palmer was 5-foot-6 and 145 pounds soaking wet- but when "The Deuce" got loose back in the early 90's, the Jackson-Olin (AL) star was electric.

He was so fast he could turn off the light switch in his bedroom and jump into bed before it got dark.

The Deuce took his talents to Bama, where he was a quarterback, receiver, running back, punt and kick returner- wherever Coach Stallings needed him, David was ready.

David helped Bama win a national championship after the 1992 season.
He spent many years with the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL.

Tomorrow night- 30 years after he left the Capstone- Birmingham's David Palmer will be inducted into the ASHOF's Class Of 2024.

David tells me he just retired from the Hoover City School System where for years he was a special-ed teacher.

Please congratulate The Deuce- and welcome him to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
