Happy Friday, y’all. ☀️ We’re getting ready for tomorrow’s market and wanted to check in with you!

Please leave your pets home this month.

‼️ Even with lower temps, the real feel (heat index) greatly affects dogs, too.
High humidity stops them from panting to cool down- putting them at even greater risk of a heatstroke.

Temps *and* heat indexes in the 80s or higher is extremely dangerous. 🐾

AUGUST 1 Market:
Heat index is set to be 80 at 7am when we open.
By 9am, it’ll be 85 and it only goes up from there.

We’re so excited to welcome visitors and meet new friends each Saturday, and we know many might not be familiar with our location.

‼️ It’s important to note:
• Our market has no shade or grass.
• We are entirely on asphalt.
• We have no indoor space.

Thank you for leaving your dogs home this month. 🐾

Our friends Society of St. Andrew-Alabama began gleaning our market in 2013. Since then, volunteers have gleaned more than 142,571 pounds of produce. 🌱 That’s more than 470,511 servings of food freely given to our city’s food pantries!

And none of this would be possible without our farmers donating their unsold produce each Saturday. 💛

Thank you to our farmers + thank you to the countless volunteers who give back year-round. 🍅 Buying local really is a gift that keeps on giving.
