Bridging arts and justice, this was an opportunity to see our UAB friends in action in Ensley, alongside our OAA board member Professor Brandon Blankenship, who is always keen to enlarge the worlds, minds and hearts of his students. The Justice Lab: The Untold Story of Sammie Lee Williams was a social trial event that took us back in time to 1949, asking us to reflect on one step we can take toward justice.

Birmingham’s work and advocates supporting community violence survivors, prevention and intervention gathered together at the Boutwell Auditorium to celebrate the launch 🚀 of a 5 year strategic plan continuing this work and the many vital partnerships that make it possible. Thank you City of Birmingham, Mayor Woodfin and his team, District 9 Counselor LaTanya Tate, Jefferson County Department of Health and Dr. David Hicks, Urban League of Alabama, Restore, Miles College, Birmingham Police Department and so many more that are a part of the fabric of this community.
