Dear Friends of Cynthia,
On July 19, 2026, Cynthia Louise Link passed away at the age of 92.
For those who knew Cynthia through Scouting, however, her passing marks the end of a very long chapter—not simply the loss of a friend, but the loss of someone who was a familiar and important part of the Scouting community for decades.
We'd like to bring that community together to celebrate her.
Please join us on Saturday, October 17 at 2:00 PM at Birmingham First United Methodist Church for a Celebration of Life for Cynthia.

Cynthia spent more than 50 years in Birmingham, and Scouting was woven into a significant part of those years. She was a leader, mentor, supporter, problem-solver and, perhaps most importantly, someone who kept showing up.
She was also someone who valued people.
She believed in young people. She believed in service. But she also understood that organizations are really about people—and she invested in those people. She remembered them, encouraged them, helped them and stayed connected to them.
That is a pretty wonderful legacy.
The Afternoon
2:00–3:00 PM — Celebration Service
We'll remember Cynthia's life and reflect on the many people she touched along the way.
3:00–5:00 PM — Reception & Fellowship
Coffee, desserts, conversation and time to catch up with old friends.
During the reception, there will be an opportunity to share memories and stories about Cynthia. If you'd like to pay tribute, bring a story or favorite memory. If you'd rather simply listen, laugh and enjoy seeing old friends, that's perfectly fine too.
We are all friends here.
