Congratulations to the winner of our scholarship, Ellanora E. Slusser! She's a Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Alabama.
Ellanora says: being a sorority woman has had a profound impact on my college experience. It has given me some of my closest friendships, women I know will stand beside me even on my wedding day. My Littles mean the world to me, and getting to see them daily is one of the highlights of my time at school. I have also had the privilege of serving as Alumnae Relations Director, a role that has shown me the importance of keeping past members just as connected and valued as current ones through newsletters, social media, and personal outreach.
As a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, whose motto is “Leading Women,” I am constantly inspired to grow. Living in a house where scholarship is our highest aim has pushed me to pursue excellence academically while being surrounded by women who are equally committed to their education, service, and leadership. This environment has encouraged me to serve my community, challenge myself, and honor the legacy of the women who came before me while setting an example for those who will follow.
Receiving this scholarship is a tremendous honor. Representing the women of the Birmingham Panhellenic community is something I do not take lightly. This support will directly aid in funding my education, including classes and textbooks, and I am committed to representing this scholarship with integrity through both my academic efforts and personal actions.
