🇺🇸 On this Memorial Day we remember one of our own.
Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum was one of the U.S. Marines who lost their lives in Afghanistan in 2021. He attended our very first On River Time camp in 2012.

We established a scholarship in Rylee's honor and are pleased to present this year's recipient, Damar from Palmer Home for Children. Damar graduated from Lake Cormorant High School in Mississippi and is set to begin basic training for the National Guard in early June. He will also start taking classes for an engineering degree. We are so proud of Damar and grateful for his heart to serve our country. Please pray for him and all who serve! Freedom isn't free.

🎓 We attended Westbrook Christian School’s commencement ceremony last night.... Home to our Big Oak Ranch kids. ♥️🖤

We have 12 former campers graduating this year from high school or college!
All will receive a scholarship from On River Time. We are so proud of them!
Congratulations to all of the graduates!!

Who better to learn what employers are looking for in an interview than from the head of HR (a.k.a. “Chief People Person”) at one of the largest companies in the southeast?! Many thanks to Gianetta Jones from Coca-Cola UNITED for sharing with the ASCENDants at Big Oak Ranch. They learned important tips about their résumé and cover letters as well as how to make a strong first impression in a job interview.
This is part of our SOAR programming to help prepare the students we serve for future success. 🌟
